Absolutely the worst day ever!

I have had the most horrible day ever!

First, I get called into work for 8 this morning after working a night shift and not getting home until 12:30 last night. I get to sleep aroud 4 AM, and then drag my ass out of bed at 7, and go to work. I am exhausted and cranky, but as the day progresses, things seem to be looking up.

Around 4 o'clock this afternoon, I get a call at work...

It is someone calling to tell me that one of our employees (a good friend of mine) passed away this morning. I go into shock, and then I start bawling my eyes out. I am violently shaking, and can't explain to the people I work with why I am freaking out. After I calm down, I call the boss and tell her, and she tries to soothe me a little.

My roomate and her boyfriend come and get me from work and take me home because I am so upset. They cancel their plans to stay with me tonight since I am in a delicate state, and so we are eating pizza and watching some movies.

I come online, and I get a message from Jason telling me he isn't coming.. so that cancels most of my plans.

My whole entire fucking long weekend has been ruined. I feel so awful, and I want to crawl into a hole and die!

The only thing that was slightly good was that people called me at work to give their condolences, and they took it upon themselves to have my shifts covered for the next couple of days. So, that gives me some time to rest and grieve, but I really wanted to go out and have fun with friends.

I sure could use some encouraging words or some advice on how to feel better. This has really dampened my spirits.

No, I have no ID or any way of getting there. So no LOL for me.

Yea they are. ESPECIALLY in Toronto.

Encouraging words: Feel better. One of the best ways of doing this is through talking with someone to let it all out. It might be in your case. Also, music helps. And, of course, time is the best solution.

I'm so sorry to hear this... What ierxium said is right enough though, when I was in a similar situation those things helped out. If you need someone to chat to I'll be on for most of the night.

I am sorry about your friend. That really sux. Hope you feel better soon.

Pete.

PS. Going out & drinking & having some fun will cheer you up. You will have to make some more plans for the next weekend & make up for lost time.

'Contract an illness' (figuratively, of course) and skip a few days work to blow it off. It's the American way

But seriously, thats a pretty awful few days, hope you're feelin' better.

damn, that is really shitty..

talking will def. help things. surround yourself with people you love, and just cherish it. as ierxium said, just let it all out.

never had someone real close to me die, so i can't even understand how that feels. but you'll get through it, and learn to deal with the loss; it's part of being human i think. just remember everything, the good and the bad, and think of everything as a blessing, because it was.

for music, riva - time is a healer is a beatiful song.

feel better soon

As was said, things will get better. They always do, and before you know it you'll be out partying and having a blast!

You need to listen to Boomer's tribute to DJ Sammy - Heaven.

That would make anyone laught

Seriously though, hope things get better for you soon.

So, I crawled into bed at 10 this evening, and have slept till now. I suddenly awoke about 10 minutes ago. Anyways, I noticed that sleep really helps with coping and stuff... so sleep it is. Goodnight!

If you dont mind me asking...and flame me if need be...but how did your friend pass? was it old age or sudden? Im just trying to fully understand the situation.
Also dont feel bad about smiling, watch something funny if you ferel like it.

Obituaries - Sep. 4, 2004

NICHOLAS J. SCHUMACHER 1988 - 2004 Of Waterloo, passed away suddenly, as a result of an accident, on September 3, 2004 in his 16th year. Dearly beloved son of Alison Meunier and Dan Schumacher; loving brother of Greg. He is fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Nick was a gifted artist and attended Bluevale Collegiate. Nick has given the gift of life through organ donation. Funeral arrangements will be announced in Tuesday's edition of the Record or may be obtained by calling the Edward R. Good Funeral Home.

He was riding his skateboard off the back of a moving vehicle, fell off and hit his head. He was in the hospital all Thursday night suffering from severe head injuries, and passed away Friday morning. He was a guy I worked with, and he and I had become good friends.
