Radio

It would be awesome if you had a tranceaddict internet radio station too!!


Think about it. This site is #1 trance forum in the world. Why not have a 24/7 EDM radio station as well!?


In the upper right hand corner of each forum page would be a link to listen to the radio station. This would be massive.

We could also have TA memebers start pitching in and giving donation to fund for the servers.


And I could broadcast my bi-weekly show on it as well


as well as arturo's show too

And who is going to pay for the initial start up costs?

There once was tranceaddict radio (long ago) but it died...

that wasnt really a radio, more of people just doing shoutcasts and using the ta server for a relay.

swampers thought about a ta radio, but hes also thought about alot of things, so we'll just have to see if anything happens.

There are enough shows around as it is, we don't need anymore, why on earth should del & co have to bother with running of a station and stuff when guys like TAW do it for us, with quality shows & a wide range of DJ's. There are too many 'small' stations vying out there as it is also, Everyone knows which ones there are, you can't pass a post in MD without tigerclaw or someone spamming a show that's gonna happen, and as I'm about to say when I post up my radio broadcasts idea add-on, it's getting ridiculous and turning the forum into a place of self promotion all over instead of being a music discussion place.

tranceaddict have Never asked for donations for anything, they might get some from time to time, but Del prides himself on not having a site that begs for money, take trance-inc.com for example, they've only been up 2 months of so and already have a paypal system in effect for donations, it's not needed imo as people are more likely to give if it's not pushed into their pages at all

with over 35'000 members here that's a stupid idea, how can you be fair to everyone who wants to play on TA Radio ? You can't. it's not fair for a mod like art to have a set for the reason that he is a mod, you to have one for the reason that you suggested it early on and so on. There would be so many problems from people arguing about who is playing, what is playing etc as well as the broadcasting license fees that all legal sites have to pay. It simply is not worth it esp as we're not short on radios

you could just link to DI's radio streams... just an idea. obviously with their permission, but yeah

The problem there is alienating all the other sites, having a thread perhaps in the dj section listing all the streams from as many stations as possible might be easier, or being able to click on an option on the main forum page, that then brings up a list of all with link streams etc, just an idea anyway

Ian this is a very good idea.


After reading your insightful remarks I can see where alot of problems would occur and in retrospect , to be kind , see my idea as a bit naive.

well see what Del or others think then, but I honestly believe that there's too much effort to be run for little reward, since there's already at least 5 well known ones

afaik TA does not plan to bring any kind of radio of its own into full time being. we already support TAW and DI.FM and there is a plan to create a live shows forum, much like the events one in the toronto forum, f77.

having the time to put it into place as well as maintain the board, especially one this size isn't easy.
