Pete B - 'No Fear' (Vocal Mix)

Hi Guys.

Here is another one of my recent tracks. This is a bit older than my 'Ultrawave' tune just posted but I've spent some time remastering it. Only problem is the lead synth is slighty too loud (my opinion), but someone on here (no names) insisted that I post!

wooo remastered version! this is seriosuly phat as phuck dude. really cool. that lead is immense. and the filter saw effect is awsome. keep it up!

lead might be a little too loud, but the melod is pure oldschool trancemaster 25 style
facking love it
great melody
peace out

To be honest, I think the lead synth isn't actually too loud, but its primary frequency is quite high up. So when I've boosted the treble during mastering, it makes the whole damn thing louder.

I checked the unmastered version and the mix sounds prefect. I'll still reduce it a little just to make everything spot on!

Thanks for your feedback!

nice kick and perc in the beginning.

damn what a bass..acid is cool also.

1.36 that hard acid thing that comes in , kinda takes out the theme from the synths in the intro.

break is very blank and Jones, same with the lead..reminds me on The nightfly(was it called that?) i dig it .

May i ask what you use to produce?

Nice stuff you got there mate! wonderful! nice melody and syth! very strong sound you got there!

How long you been producing?

Posted by Reconceal on Sep-05-2004 10:19:

Nice hard acidic intro, some heavy synth work here.
The acid bass needs a few listens to slip into my ear, i don't really like it all dry when the filter opens up, but i guess little is to be done here.
That .."thing" at 1:35 is somehow strange to me, Id lower its volume certainly, maybe took off some high freqs.
Heh... indeed the melody and break are very B&J style, not certainly a bad thing at all, since in the climax the melody works VERY very well.
Nothing new, original or groundbreaking, but its certainly very enjoyable and powerfull. Synth is a bit sharp on ears, too loud like said before.
I generaly don't like 2 climax songs much, yet you made a nice variation in the buildup and transition, so good work. Certainly a very lovely transition t 2nd climax. Rolls of predictably.
Vocals are nice, placed well, maybe i find them unnecesary in the outro, but anyway.
Good job!

the intro is very different & quite nice, the perc are also nice, love the acid, all&all, this is a great tune, cheers

Hows the mastering on this track? I know the mix isn't too bad, apart from the slightly-too-loud lead synth, but i was wondering if the mastering sounds ok?

Posted by Icone on Sep-06-2004 12:30:

Sounds like a pretty cool track to me mate!

I'm not too fond of those vocals though... All the rest is in place. Nice bassline and cool lead. I don't think it's too loud, sounds ok. Overall, a nice track.

Cheers,
Wim

nice track, very pro;
right it sounds a bit blank&jones-ish when the melody comes in
but i don't know if this is really a bad point...

thx for sharing

I have to agree with this, but after all nice work. Melody is not too original, but it all sounds pretty pro. Keep it up.

Hey Pete

Mastering on this one is pretty tight, but it sounds quite lo-fi, even for a 128 kbps. But every sound has it's correct place in the mix so you can all hear and identify them at the same time. Maybe a bit too much compression..? Good job anyways. I think there's a tad too much delay on the vocal. Lead is a very nice one. Melody is a bit cheesy but still does the trick. Buildup is ok too.

Pretty tight sounding, nice track you made.

Actually I used very light compression on this track. What you might be hearing is the 'ducking' effect I used on the bass and 1 or 2 synths. Its that effect which dips the music in time with the beat.

Cheers!

ooooooo

Love the kick, love the percs, love that bassline and the acidee bit. not too keen on the little leads that comes in after the small break, but thats just me.
chord progression = fookin quality, really uplifting!
REALLY like the lead, kick back is reeeeaaaalll good.
Love it mate!!

Cool

pretty fucking cool, lead aint too loud imo, some of the acid fx are mint. certainly would love to have a better bitrate version of this to spin!

Cheers! If anyone wants a 256kb version of this track for CDR then PM me.

Posted by TriXed on Sep-20-2004 22:12:

Yeah the delay on the voclas is the only thing I don't like. I think it comes back too quickly. i would favour a 3 beat after delay.

But overal Pro to fuck like most fo the tunes on here.. another stonker!

Solid track mate. Some real original sounds in there. I agree that the lead sounds rather blank and jonesish but they're awesome so nothing wrong with that! (Should see if they'd play it in their set??)
