When did you start listening to trance?

Eh?

Posted by Turner on Sep-05-2004 01:04:

After 98, i might have been round about 2001 i think, might have even been 2002.

Posted by Floorfiller on Sep-05-2004 02:09:

i suppose it depends what you considered trance. i've always had cds by electronic artists...but didn't go hardcore "trance" until i got Tranceport. I listened to a lot of Underworld and CJ Bolland in the early ninties...just that type of sound.

Got into it heavily about a year ago, but had been listening to it regularly for about a year-and-a-half before that.

I started listening to trance in 1999, when I heard some great tracks like "For An Angel", "Saltwater" or "After Love"!

Posted by XeQtOr on Sep-05-2004 15:20:

Posted by RedEyed on Sep-06-2004 02:18:

Hehe in some mysterious way you have listened (and still seem to do so) the same ones i have.

When i started to listen trance.. hmm. I guess the first trancey track i've heard was something by Jean-Michel Jarre in 1984 or so. After that started my addiction into electronic music. The first real (old skool now) trance track for me must have been either Zyon - No Fate (Struggle Continious Mix) from 1992 or possibly Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Kid Paul Mix) from 1993 or Humate - Love Stimulation from 1993. One of these was also my first own trance vinyl which i bought in '93. Orbital - Halcyon (Note: only the rework for the album is called + On + On. Original, slightly different version is just Halcyon) was also one of my first vinyls back then..

I still listen about all the same artists i listened back then but my taste has changed quite a bit anyway and filtered off all the more crappy ones.

after or actually late 98 I started hearing some stuff on the radio, didnt really get into it till 99

It was summer of 97. The first trance tape I had was Nigel Richards "hands in the air". Totally awesome rare trance by Nigel.

Does "The House Of House" by Cherrymoon Trax count as Trance?

It must have been around 1992-93 as well with me.

Capricorn - 20 Hz
Visions Of Shiva - How Much Can You Take

Those were some of my fav's that time. Ow, I also forgot Moby - Go!

Posted by Synchronized on Sep-09-2004 08:11:

I started listening to trance in mid-late 1999.

Radagast, what about you? When did you start listening? Just wondering...

Posted by TranceMuzik02 on Sep-09-2004 18:37:

It was around 2001

Posted by UnBracKo on Sep-10-2004 14:31:

after 98, before I was too young (12 years old) to know and hear EDM

Posted by WM2 on Sep-12-2004 23:38:

I started listening to Prodigy and Chemical Brothers around 96-97, and bought my first trance album, Seven Ways, in 98. I've been part of the world-wide PVD cult since that fateful day.

Posted by M1cro5lave on Sep-13-2004 06:49:

Been listening to Trance before 1998, but I wasn't that interested then. I think it was around 2000-2001 when I really got into trance.
