omg..

Armin van Buuren is gonna take the #1 spot this year.. no doubt

2003 - Tiesto
2002 - Tiesto
2001 - John Digweed
2000 - Sasha
1999 - Paul Oakenfold
1998 - Paul Oakenfold
1997 - Carl Cox
1995 - Carl Cox

The contest was not held in 1994 or 1996. I don't know who the winner of the original one in 1993 was, but it was just a list compiled by the magazine editors that year to celebrate the 50th issue.

cant someone bring the top 10 list of the last 10 years.. would have been cool to see the runner ups as well..

what do u say?

What has he done this year to gain exposure, exactly?

no one in history has won 3 times a year.. Armin has his ASOT show.. and plays loads of gigs.. I just feel he is gonna be #1 this year.. (personally I dont give a damn who enters #1)

I thought Tiesto was the first DJ to win the poll 2 years running?

And he was also the first non-British DJ to win the poll, so Danny Tenaglia couldn't have won it, right?

Posted by Floorfiller on Sep-06-2004 16:59:

ya know...saying that tiesto won't win because there has never been a three time winner is pretty stupid given how short the history of the poll has been.

correct reply at last! It only became a poll for Cox.

This is why even as a religiously loyal TIesto fan i voted Armin this year... traditionally NO ONE not even Gods like Cox and Oakey can win this one thrice. Although an achievement, Tiesto doesn't deserve to eclipse there's - just to level is ok.

i would seriously like to see PVD walk away with it this year, hes due

yea, especially when u take into account their influence on the scene, compared to Tiesto's

PvD seriously deserves it though.

this is from Tisto's website:

Not everybody that has ever heard about Tisto knows that he was the first non english DJ ever to win the DJmag Top 100 DJs vote, but the more people know that he was the first DJ ever to do this 'trick' another time again when he was chosen best DJ in the world at the end of October last year in London for the second time in a row

someone is wrong here, i think

so why is it so special that a none UK dj wins the dj mag?

personally i find it crap, i prefer the more underground and upcoming DJs, the famous ones keep playing the tunes over and over again, and coming up with shit remixes like taures and Adigio for strings etc.

Stuff like DJ mag ruins music imo. look at mtv awards, people don't give a shit about how music must sound, just money and the award.

^^^

so right!

Posted by GT40 on Sep-06-2004 19:18:

I think Danny Rampling has won it.
