Quality: 160 kbps
BPM: 138 Bpm

feel free to post any suggestions/comments

PS: i made it overcompressed on purpose, to make it loud and to enjoy it so dont tell me its overcompresseed....

damn you! how can you be so productive!? this is great as usual...

... bastard....

Posted by Massive84 on Sep-08-2004 17:20:

actually i like the way this is masterd now.

just add one more hihat a bit tougher one, not to loud, and give it it's own space, try to do this with NN-19 not redrum.

clap can be a little louder i think.

that phased snareroll is cool, and the pads are quite cool also imo.

will see how this turns out.

I like this one.

Don't know if it's caused by the compression, but the high frequencies are a bit overrepresented IMHO, especially those in the main lead.
Intro is superb.

amazing track mate, one of your the best (if not the best one , put full version when you done it

Hmm Sunquest, sounds like you limitted the hell out of it to make it sound full and loud. The hihats aren't crisp, no glance on the synths. For low bandwidth internet radios it's gold, cause the melody in this one is very good. 99-2000 style worked out. Man, work on your sounds, eq and mix, it's all so the same every track. I keep this one in mind for a remix cause of the melody.

nice track.. i'd quite happily lay by a nice sunny beach.. drink in hand.. and listen to this alllll day long..

like the melody.. great when things come up trumps froma fluke innit.

i'd spin this anyday of the week

Damn, I always dig your tracks. I've heard better from you IMO production wise, and composition wise. It's still up to Sunquest standards, and I'm liking it. The melody is lacking something that your tracks usually have, though. It's like it reaches out, but then doesn't finish its progression.

Still, good stuff

i love this melody, stringy synth is amazing, wether u made it or not! as is that lovely bitey lead saw that plays thruout, bass is better than in most of your tracks i think, but still nothing special, and i think the quality of some of the sounds in this let down the beautiful melody. I hope in my remix i can give it something unique to make it stand out. we will see

Mike

Holy mother of God...I felt like I was rolling when I heard this song...lol! Awesome production...I love the music + production...whenever I see your name I know what kind of quality to expect so I must listen to whatever you post...I don't think I could say enough about this song, im listening to it as we speak, it's like the tenth time im hearing it...

I haven't posted any songs yet, so I feel that I can't critique you on production skills, all I know is that it sounds damn F****** good...keep it going...

Posted by pho mo on Sep-09-2004 00:44:

yup, excellent tune! uplifting, driving, interesting, good production etc. etc. etc. you know the drill

Posted by smrq on Sep-09-2004 03:06:

No less than what I've come to expect from you The melody doesn't seem to grab my attention as much as most of your work... but that doesn't keep this from being a thoroughly enjoyable track. I'd love to offer some constructive criticism, but I haven't a clue how you could improve your work (if I did, I'd be doing it with my own stuff :P) So be satisfied that I have yet to hear a track from you that I really don't like.

thanx guys

AHH the full version:

First thing, not dj friendly: the main bassline comes in at only 30 seconds, then there is not much of like a 1-2 sec break at around 55 seconds or so(32 bars i believe). Would rather hear the main bassline come in at that point or at least build it up till it gets to about 52-55secs, with a quick break there of 1-2 secs, ad than have the main full bass line right after that. That is key for a nice bass line transition in a mix between 2 tracks. Need to work that.

Now based on my comment i made in the other thread of Mike's remix, based on the sample i had at the time: This final mix does keep the energy very well throughout the track. Really liking the general atmospheres and drive of it. Very uplifting.
Overall, really nice and uplifting the way i like it, but please rework the begining structure to make it dj friendly.
Keep it up man

Ok, I feel like giving someone a HUGE feedback, and guess what: I decided to listen to Sunquest... I've never noticed you before recently... Everybody is giving you great feedback. So I guess you're a shooting star among us

*Listening*
- The start is kinda weird, mainly because of those percs in the background. Sound like some clicking of some sort. But I guess they help making the tune independent, and not similar to everything else.
- Oh, those claps after 14seconds is good! Very energic.
- The bassline is good. And the lead is ok. The pads are good as well! There's some nice FX's and phasing going on as the lead plays. Good.
- Oh, the break is very good. I mean, the transition. No hesitation, just two kicks BANG BANG, and then silence. Mmmm... Nice melody fading in here.
- Hey, where did it go, the melody. (03.30) Oh, here it is (03.40) Very relaxing melody.
-

Rating:
SOUNDQUALITY - 8/10
(Good, but it can get better. Listen to Carl B - All Day. That's a 10 out of 10!!!)
STRUCTURE - 6/10
(I liked it. Very unpredictable! But needs you need to add something more than just that lead and the main part. Some sort of bridge with piano, guitars, ahhh-pads, or something... And from 05.34 to 08.26, there's really nothing happening. I know it has to be DJ-friendly in the end, but this was kinda boring to listen to in the end.)
MELODY - 7/10
(Nice and relaxing. But it has to be more emotional)
CREATIVITY - 5/10
(Cool snare-rolls, Energic clap-rolls, strange clicking-sounds in the background. Hehe. Nothing more...)

My all-over-rating is then: 7/10. That's good. Remember, I compare you to professional tunes.
