Hybrid Vs. Infusion

Sparked by the LOL reviews...which is it?

I'd have to go with Infusion.

(cue really long story that everyone loves about why I can't take hybrid seriously)

Posted by bluE_Neon on Sep-10-2004 12:40:

Hybrid doesn't play the same as they did 2 years ago. I haven't even seen Infusion either

Posted by dEsidEL on Sep-10-2004 12:58:

Hybrid ..

just because i like the letter "H" better than the letter "I" today ..

Posted by bluE_Neon on Sep-10-2004 13:32:

I didn't know people have that kinda issues

Like asking who is better:
Elvis or Eminem?

Totally different era's and styles.

Come on Jonny.

I agree they are different, but I think you're the one stretching how different they really are. Different era's? LMAO

Depends who the listener is, but fuck man, they can be compared. The Elvis and Eminem analogy is WAY out of line. BAHAHAHAHHA

Different is different dude.
Hybrid was on back about 3 years ago, where now Infusion is on fire. Sure a little exageration on the analogy but thats me
I don't see how they can be compared......
Maybe because they are both EDM ?

Seen both.. and while infusion is good, I'm not into their prog-breaks... Hybrid just plain turns it out.

I see what Jons getting at or maybe hes thinking about else. God knows what has in store in his twisted ass mind! Arhmmm, Hybrid & Infusion are very similar when it comes to playing sets/live PA's & productions. They both are classified as breakbeat artists (in general) but they do have progressive/progressive house productions. Which guys are better, dont know coz atm I've got my mind on other styles & really freaking annoying artists that I can't get a hold off!

Posted by jon jon on Sep-10-2004 14:17:

I would classify Infusion as Progressive or Dirty Progressive Tech.
Mind you this is a matter of opinon but I wouldn't think Breaks and Infusion would be associated.

Fair enough! But there is a dozen at least tracks where their remixes are all nu-skool-proggy kinda type breaks

Did you pull this name out of your ass?

To the people that say Hybrid's best days are past, get a clue. Hybrid is as big now as they were 3 years ago. That being said, the last time I heard Hybrid was at a Spundae party on a Sunday night in early 2001 and they blew the roof off the place... unfortunate only 100 people experienced it. The set consisted of mostly progressive beats with a few break beats mixed in along the way.

I've gotta give the edge to Hybrid!

Their DJ set in the Orange Room last year was much of the same.

It was the first time I -really- listened to breaks (progressive or not) and it blew my f'ing mind.

The DJ set was unreal - I would travel a good 300 miles to see a Hybrid DJ set anytime.

Now for a live-set, that I've never seen, but word on the grape vine is that they sometimes have a bit of a messy guest performer that at times can turn the show into a circus act rather than sweet tunes. I can't say I've seen it first hand - but my source is bang-on (always).

I just got a 4 hour Hybrid DJ set and it's phenominal.

Guvy should book them for a proper set (none of this orange room bizniz).
