id say 70% of vocal trance has vocals only so the buying public know the name of the tune. $$$ money grabing labels.

check out the dido remix by a&v for a vocal track, im not sure the lyrics fit a trance track too well but, better than some of the stuff lately.

Andain - Beautiful Things (ofcourse)
Chicane - Autumn Tactics (Thrillseekers remix)
PvD - Southern Sun

I think vocal trance only works when it was originally intended by the (original) producer. Quite agree with the likes of Andian, its nice stuff but not for the commercial market.

What usually sounds rubbish, and I hate it more than anything, is when some record company sign a big instrumental track then decide to glue on some shitty vocal, often performed by some random slapper.

...And stuff like Scooter, Ian Van Dahl, Ultrabeat - please, it just aint worth talking about. Gives real trance a bad name.
