Who here has gone to an event alone?
Ive seen many at the Guv standing in the line alone, at the back alone, etc. when their fav. headliner comes to town. Ive thought about it since living in this Hip Pop city, its hard to get friends to go. So how "uncool" are you if you go alone if one of your fav. djs comes to town.
i used to go alone... that's before i met the TAs. It's amazing that they're just about everywhere whenever i go... even when plan on going alone. THEY'RE EVERYWHERE I TELL U!
90% of the time i go to clubs i go "on my own". But of course, when you frequent clubs/events as often as some of us do, you see all the familiar faces (as well as TA's), so you dont feel "uncool".
when i started clubbing, i was scared to go alone. but now it doesnt matter for me. i think the advantage for going alone is that you get to leave whenever you want. sometimes ur frends want to leave early.

I used to go alone... But now i usually go with friends, or the person i'm dating.....
I almost always go alone and meet people inside...it also gives me the freedom to leave whenever I want rather being dragged out of an event cause someone's tired in the middle of a Ferry Corsten set (Happened before). But that's only the Guv usually
I go alone, but I know so many regualars TA's and not, nowadays, I never am there alone.
I went to a party at the better living center on NYE 2000, after bailing on my high school friends and a very weak house party. They'd tell me 'you're going to a rave by yourself? You're gonna die man!' The next monday at school everyone complained about how their new year's was, yet I had the time of my life.
Before I met Callie I went to every event i went to in canada by myself... living in Whitby everyone here is either into punk,
(c)rap, or metal so its hard to find someone to go with...
i always go alone, and never feel uncool.
i love going alone, and getting lost in the crowd. its such a cool feeling, there are thousands of people around you, and you dont know any of them! It may scare some, but i figure i am around people i know all the time, i might as well have sometime for myself.
i consider clubbing to a personal experience, something i can just relax and enjoy with by myself. I dont have to make conversation, or make sure people im with are comfortable(something i tend to do).
8 months i spent going to the Guvernment alone...rarely frequented other clubs in this span as i grew comfortable with the guv and the faces i saw there week in and week out...In these 8 months i only made aquaintances...the usual "hello's" "nice party's" etc etc...
its different and another big reason i love this scene...the fact that you CAN do that and still have an AMAZING time...
yeah ive gone alone to a club many times, once you get into a club you can meet soo many people that it doesnt matter. its all about letting yourself have a good time.
i agree that this is a hip hop city and not many friends are willing to go to an edm club, which sucks, but that shouldnt ruin your night.
with TA there its almost impossible to go out alone now
2 years ago I flew from Calgary to Miami for WMC not knowing a single person there.
I had plans to meet this girl 'Tatgirl' down there. so I went alone, but I ended up partying w/ Nat the whole time.
I have went to some events alone in the past because most of my friends I've known and hung out with since like public school aren't into EDM.
However, if you go to these things often enough, chances are you'll run into someone you know or better yet, other TAs. In fact, I relinquished my lurking-ways and joined TA after I found out a very good friend from high school and public school introduced me to everyone at Decadence!
It's not uncool if you go by yourself in any way. I find that you'll end up meeting more people since you're forced to do so.
i've never gone alone, mostly b/c when i started going it was always w/ the guy i was dating and by the time we broke up, I had a whole crew to go w/, it seems like there wodul be friends at any event i would want to attendm esp now w/ knowing so many ppl on TA
i never go alone to a big event, there is always bunch of us, but afterparties are different thing.
last couple of times i went to comfort zone by myself cause everybody else was either too tired or theywanted to go to somebody's place to "chill".
going alone is sometimes better than going in the group.
I actually like going alone because you have no repsonsiblity and no being babysitter. If it is a big event - sometimes having a big group can be fun - especially if it is mentioned that everyone must look after themselves once you have arrived.
I always go out with people, but always end up alone !! At LOL I was lost for 4 hours, and I couldn't find anyone I knew, it was sad.
I need to start getting use to going out alone, because in Ottawa I have no close friends that are into EDM, so basically I have to make my friends come out with me.

I've gone alone, with a chick, with friends, with friends and a chick. The outcome is always the same. In the end of the night, you're with friends (old or new) and a chick
Most of the time I go to clubs alone but run into people I know like %100 of the time but as for huge parties like WEMF or BAL EN BLANC in Montreal I will go with someone or with a group...
Used to go with frinds all the time, but then its so difficult to get there on time...so a couple of times I tried to just meet them there and it turned out perfect! Now, I go there and I just tell them to meet me there, sometimes they dont even show up but by the time in there I meet so many TAs there that it doesnt matter. Plus, you stay as long as you want.

i almost prefer going alone and just meeting ppl there.....
i like to be on my own schedule, coming and going when i choose
I have no problem going alone now, usually b/c I run into people at the club. That being said, I usually make pre-drinking arrangements with those people and we head over together.
I went to Tiesto 2001 at kool haus alone though. I bussed in from London. I met these fantastic guys from Waterloo in line who I partied with all night and later I ended up going out with one of them for 2.5 years. We just split up in May.
I love that story of how we met though - so random.
