It's just very different to clubs in the UK. Our clubs tend to be huge expensive money making venues. The Casino is just an old warehouse with corrugated iron walls. It was the first club I went to in Berlin - it has a charm.

damn i bet that'd be a hell of a show.. im getting psyched about seeing pvd a week from tonight.

on a totally unrelated note, i love those flyers.

You could all move to europe... I love living a two hour
flight away from Berlin

Posted by Fire_xXx_Ice on Sep-14-2004 10:52:

aye - living in europe has it's advantages

Can't afford it this time around. That being said the guests are kinda weak, so musically there have been loads better Vandit Nights than this. Still, they are loads of fun, and PvD spinning till 10 in
the morning is an amazing experience you only get here. And while Casino definitely has its charm, Vandit Night as a concept has outgrown it, resulting in jam packed nights with hardly any space to move and stifling heat. Will be refreshing with a bigger venue.

PVD spinning till 10 am !!! OMG !!!

Can someone buy me airfare to this special event

Good points made - I agree I cant wait to see the new venue. I really wish they were going to be held at the Columbiahalle instead - I love it there.

Hm, I dunno if VNs are so big that they can fill Columbiahalle on a monthly basis. Also, this would detract from the overall impact that Love From Above has, since it's held once a year there. On top of that, Columbiahalle does not have the distinct "underground" feel that Casino had, which is what I think is one of the main factors of the VN's success. Whether it will get the same support now that it has moved out of what has been its home for over 5 years is also not certain.

Will be exciting to see where it ends up though, hopefully Paul finds a venue that is bigger, yet retains the warehouse-feel that Casino had. It was one of the things that made VNs so unique compared to other nights I've been to with big shot DJs like Sasha behind the decks.

Yeah I suppose so. Do you know if the Casino name will just be moved onto a new venue like last time it moved??

Nothing official yet, but the ppl in GTA think that they will probably reopen somewhere else, since they have done it before.

I love the Casino as a venue, but only from about 5am onwards when the floor just clears. You can set your watch by it. When it's packed it's a bit annoying. The guest's are a bit crap this time round, but I would still love to hear the spell live; even though it'll probably not live up to my expectations. I am still undecided on whether I am going. Personally I think it'd be great if they moved to the old E-Werk venue. I have never been but have only heard good things!

I've only seen it on tv - it looks like a dungeon I'd love to see it properly
