Ivan : bring it b!*#h!!

damn you hurricane ... bring it .. there's always good and bad twists to every hurricane .. the good : all schools closed ... woo hoo!! .. the bad : the aftermath; cleaning up and the floods in new orleans .. let's just hope our new pump system works .. this is where it is put to the test .. according to the government. it can pump out a whooping 5000 gallons an hour, if there was a flood ...

currently, its running at 160 mph ..

Ivan has fucked things up so much here in Florida - and it's still south of Cuba...

wow.

Anyways, all schools were cancelled today (including my college) and will resume tomorrow. FOR NO APPARENT REASON. The hurricane was *maybe* supposed to make landfall just north of us on Monday (today) but since Friday, has been delayed until about Wednesday or Thursday. Now everyone is in a panic to get food and gas for a hurricane that isn't even supposed to affect us...

*sigh*

Oh well - gave me an excuse to not even fucking show up for my first day of work today!

OMGzors!!!!1!one!!eleven!!1
DEREZ A HURICAN COMMING!!1! OMGzorz!!!11!!!

we got a call a few days ago from a family friend who lives in grenada. They went to their friends house in canada due to ivan. They've just found out they've got nothing to go back to...everything has gone basically, and any remaining items would have been stolen by looters.
Also their friends dog died, he was running about after the storm and he sniffed a mains powerline

TD ELEVEN

TCY IVAN

The blue line on the middle charts of each represent the Tropical Systems average forcasted strength from 11 different models. The standard deviations are clearly marked with 10% and 20% probabilities.

Although Ivans path is forecasted to hook up towards the north. I how ever believe from observations over the last 10 or so days forecast that it will continue on its regular path and the cone of probability will be scewed more towards the left. As for TD ELEVEN it still remains uncertain.

yep yep .. everyone is freaking out now ... you know how freaked out this city is??

we have the interstate 10 going east and west .. well, they opened the interstate east to go the opposite direction, so we have two highways going west .. the interstate 10 is a popular interstate, so everyone is heading that direction .. the downside .. there are too many cars going that direction now, and the police have not closed all the exits that are heading towards the interstate 10 going the east direction .. so no one is moving the past four hours ..

the weatherman tells us that if we want to evacuate, we go EAST ... because the west side is congested with cars..

hmmm........

I attend school in Tampa, and we have had three days off so far for Charley and Frances accumulated. Since Frances fell on Labor Day weekend, we had a five day weekend. There are good sides. Yet, starting school three weeks earlier than the rest of the country and only getting five days out of those three weeks off for hurricane days sucks. Go Figure...

I was born and raised in Delaware until four years ago....so I HAVE lived through snow. I remember that two Valentines Days ago I went up and was stuck with shoveling four feet of snow. But I do admit, Virginia is usually hit worse.

I just moved to Florida... from Buffalo, New York. Back in the day, if we got 8 feet of snow, it was one day off - and even then only if it snowed all through the night so they couldn't plow all the streets before schools opened. At school in Fredericksburg last fall we got two days off for hurricane Isabel, but then got four days off later on for like 6 inches of snow. What a joke.

i don't envy you guys, its one big motherfucker!

its at times like this i'm glad we have predictable weather, even though it predictably rains a lot.
