whee! thanks for teh comments

i'm a huge fan of breaks, especially chill out stuff

this sounds good by my ears... nothing too epic, which is very relaxing and relieving sometimes... however, your kick could be a lot stronger

defiantely a lot of things goin on, i like that, keeps my attention and somehow, makes me space out at teh same time haha

good work

Nice work!
I absolutely love the tremelo synth during the breakdown 2:30ish, really nice. Plus the percussion throughout sounds super-crunchy
Overall the production is great, as is the arrangement.
This one just keeps on growing on me.

thanks for the comments

seems everyone is agreeing on this kick being too quiet, i had a suspicion lol, but feedback has confirmed it. i might update it, but not gonna make any promises

interesting bit of work; 10.5 megs is a big file =)

it's pretty well produced - but as allready mentioned - the kick is weak, as is the bassline - I'd boost the bassline a couple of db and add some 200hz to it.

structuirally, it doesn't really change that much - and gets a little boring towards the end - maybe alter the percs slightly as it progresses, or add some new elements to keep interest

sounds very 90's FSOL

interesting FX work

=)

give the kick more bass at the lowest end, raise the 50-150hz area a few notches. the bass needs a little more lowend too, or maybe another lowend bass that runs simultanius with the original one.

it feels like you should have more agressiveness in the clap too, feels a bit weak (listen to a few luke chable breaks and you'll know what I mean with this )

overall a very nice production that just need that last finish to make it superb
really love the atmosphere in it!

trafik - your light (luke chable vocal mix) ????? cuz that tune rox.. i'll go use it as a reference thanks.

i'm not going to reiterate the overwhelming suggestion(s) on changes for this track, but would like to commend you on a nice chilly track. The second your track hit (i loaded like 10 TA tracks into winamp and started reading a book) my head popped up.. I'm a sucker for nicely done instrumental intros.

Sunquest is always a whore about melodies, seeing as how that's his specialty. I disagree with him on this one, what you've got works great. Just fix a few of those things, and see if adding that guitar he suggested works or not. I look forward to a finished copy for sure, in the meantime I'm gonna kick it with this.

As Ron said, you are one of my more fav.s on these boards =)

*edit*

The last half of the track, the melody stays dark.
I would have liked to see the melody regress back to what it was doing in the 3:30 area, where it wasn't continuously spirling downward, but the notes would resound and change and lift up a bit. I'm not saying make this a happy happy track, its nice dark! But I liked some what was going on at 3:30, and again at 4:48!

love the experimental guitar at the start of this and the bass line has a class progression to it,thanks nice way to start thursday,

Posted by The Green Link on Sep-16-2004 10:00:

As mentioned before, the beat/bass section should be a lot louder in the mix. And after a while it starts to get a bit repetitive, cause there's no melody or so to keep it going. Maybe u can introduce some xtra sounds.
But nice work overall, keep it up.

hmm... how'd you get that guitar in???

you actually mic in an electric guitar? or did you use a synth

let me konw your secrets! hah, i play the guitar and have been meaning to get a guitar into my tracks but do not konw the best way

Good track with good atmosphere.
I'd say the reverb on the guitar is a tad too loud. It's a bit too wet. Great sound apart from that.
Nice breakbeats, a bit thin tho for the real good break shit.
It's more like ambient, and the ambient part of this is quite good
Percussion I find a tad too loud and dry. Highs sound very sharp.. I think too much low is cut..?
Same melody now for quite a while... takes a bit too long I'm now waiting for a change.
At 5 mins I feel like something big is coming now. Or a break.
Too bad nothing really happens. Only the bass line is a bit variable and some fx have appeared.

A bit too static, but the synth sounds and guitar in this one are very good. Feels good to listen too. Good work!

Okay I've listened to this track like 10 times now. Really haunting kind of spacey sound. I had to come back and post. Good job on this one.
