i have no clue what so ever on what u are tying to ask in this thread?!?!?!?!

Posted by Torley Wong on Sep-15-2004 05:17:

Perhaps DJ E-s*it, you are wanting to compile a DJ set with a lot of the big "trance tracks", hence the "classics"?

I think he wants to know the very first sets that specific tunes were dropped in for the first time. He will never find these facts out.

Posted by tribu on Sep-15-2004 05:27:

No, hes asking in which sets were those songs played for the first time. Almost impossible to know, Id say, unless someone has been keeping track. Since promos usually preceed releases by a good clip, you might be searching months in advance of the actual tunes release date (in case of anything pressed by Vandit, possibly years).

This is actually a good idea thread, in my opinion.

sorry guys...wut i meant was...which set was the 1st dat has out of the blue or gourella or komodo...in it...Which set has those songs appeared for the first time.

Classics. Heh.

Aha. Good question, DJ E-s*it.

Now, I'm assuming here based on probability: but in the case where a track was made by a producer who is also a prominent DJ, I would think they would have the first crack at it -- after all, it's their baby!

They'd do a test pressing onto vinyl (dub plate) and spin it for the first time to get crowd reaction, and also passing it to some good friends also. Maybe take the tune back to the studio and retweak it and engage the process this way. This is certainly not uncommon.

Posted by DJ E-s*it on Sep-15-2004 05:47:

Do u even think they have recorded the set? the only way to find is to email those producer asking them when and where and if they recorded that set when they dropped their "baby". Any other ways to find out? i totally want to hear out of the blue being dropped for the first time^^

What tribu will help you have a more effective thread , and yes, if I am wanted to be contacted, I can be PM'ed or emailed. But thanks for alerting me to this!

And as for your question, yes, you'd have to ask the creator of the music -- "Out of the Blue" being a System F production, Ferry's the man to ask. Of course, it'd be easier if you are a press interviewer, but I believe he has a Forum of his own... so if you can't find the answer here, by all means ask fellow Ferryfans there.

I think he's confused.

All these "classics" didn't just APPEAR one day on someone's DJ set. They circulated slowly before their release date and individually (due to their respective timelines) played by DJ's ad nauseum.

Also remember, what you find classic isn't everyone's definition of classic. There is no one DJ set that includes all your favorite dated tracks unless you make it yourself or someone makes it for you.

Either that answers your question or I'm totally lost.

Posted by DJ E-s*it on Sep-15-2004 06:57:

no i think about it, u are totally right. Those songs has to be pressed for white label then passed out to some* DJs to listen and play, so it doesnt SUDDENTLY appear in one DJ set. Thanx for clarify

Posted by dark_tenshi on Sep-15-2004 07:38:

I think Out of the Blue was so hot that Oakey paid close to a thousand pounds for his vinyl. Even that said, it would be almost impossible to really what was the first time that these tracks were played. But for a major broadcast, I would start with Oakey in terms of Out of the Blue.

Gouryella - Tenshi made it's debut in Ferry's 2000 Trance energy set.
No clue about the rest of the tracks though

Contrary to what many people have posted, I have to say that these songs have to have one initial set it was played in. The thing is is that you cannot expect it to be a monumental set like Energy, Sensarion, Rosemontags, or any of the other big names. It was probably first dropped in a basic set in some club where a promoter paid to have them come in and spin. they tested it a few times, as someone else has said, then made it avliable for others. But I do think there was one initial set for most all songs..
