dance records & satellite records.

I been wanting to try dance records and satellite records to buy my 12". been a faithfull juno records buyer for a long time. does anyone know how much do the above two online sites charge for packing each records. Like juno records charges :

Rest of the world (excluding Australia, New Zealand, Taiwan & Japan)
10"/12"/LP: 3.60 UK pounds for first record, then 2.00 per record.
CD/Cassette/7": 2.00 for first item, then 1.20 per item.
Double 12"s, CDs etc. count as two items.
Orders over 26.00: 60p is added for insurance.
Orders over 50.00: 3.00 is added for insurance.

I work for Satellite here in Boston. Their online department has everything we do and should be able to process with your order with minimal delay. We charge about $9.99 average price for a 12". This of course varies but your best bet would be to hit up www.satellliterecords.com and get prices from there then go to www.xe.com to convert the amount from USD to GBP.

Cheers!

Max

Satellite Records is very very slow to ship. One time it took them a month to ship me 1 record.

Had problems with them in the past with sending me sh!tty records ( the records came warped ). I will not buy from them again.

Sorry Max but your store needs to change if you want my $200 a month business.

I've used both of the US stores you've mentioned. I prefer Dancerecords because they ship the same day and its free if the order is over $50(this is US only, however). Things seem to come in and out of stock more frequently than Satellite records, however. Satellite seems to have better prices than Dancerecords, rather than almost every record being $9.99, although shipping might add the cost back. The UK stores are nice too but I try to avoid shopping there because its tempting to spend a lot more than you wanted to since they usually have so much in stock.

I pretty only use dancerecords. They have never failed me and ship out reliably and quick.

Boston and the online shops aren't connected other than through the name. And yes, the online place is slow as shit. Before I worked for Satellite I remember ordering 10+ records then 1/2 my order would be out of stock by the time they would ship it. I use dancerecords a lot myself but shhh don't tell anyone that...

Yea , I also use dancerecords.com too. Excellent shipping.

I like how they give you a brief description of the track before listening. Saves me alot of time.

However.

I find that alot of the US stores dont carry as much and dont carry the newer tunes fast enough as does juno or chemical. I prefer to buy US because of lower shipping rates but than I also need to get those choons quick.

Perfect example is Children of the Sun out on Chemical and Juno now but isnt on dancerecords.com. Interested to see how long it takes for them to get it in stock. And if they do its probally 1-2. So you better be quick.

Even it is on satellite.com dont expect it to get to for another 4 weeks <------this would be my last resort

Thumbs up DanceRecords.com

Nothing but praise for DanceRecords.com from me. I've placed about 20 orders with them in the last year or so, gotten each and every order within a week, if not a few days, and they have excellent customer service. I once received a scratched record from them and since they didn't have any more in stock, they gave me my money back - no questions asked. I didn't even have to go through the trouble of sending it back like most other places ask you to do.

Their shipping is excellent - I got one of my recent orders the following day even though I didn't pay for overnight. I think I paid for 2-day or 3-day and it was here the next morning, even though I placed the order after 5pm eastern (which is their cutoff time for placing orders if you want it to ship out the same day).

I also love their email notification system...you can be alerted via e-mail when they restock titles from specific artists, labels, or when they restock a specific vinyl.

They sometimes put nifty stickers in there with your order too
