The Butterfly Effect Directors Cut
All I can say is WOW.
who writes these scripts?? How do people think of these ideas?? That was an experience. I feel weird.
anyone know any significant differences between the retail version and the directors cut?
i watched the director's cut and thought it was pretty good, but wasn't sure how it was different, and how different it was

in the original version, did he have to go so far as to tell her he'd slit her throat and kill her family so that she wouldnt be his friend? he couldve just pissed his pants and that would probably show the same results.
I didn't like it..
If more time was put into the screenplay, direction, and especially the casting (child actors anyone?).. Maybe a different lead, then this movie could have been tons better..
Spoiler
Alla the part he went to jail for killing the brother, it was self defense.. Why would he get life in prison?

^ Uh, it was a 'what if' movie in the first place... everything was possible I suppose - perhaps that's the point of chaos theory? Hmm...
I saw the movie in the theatre and loved it. I watched the director's cut and also loved the movie
When I saw the director's cut ending, my jaw literally dropped
I was so caught off-guard by it. Makes me kinda afraid to watch director's cut movies anymore
ok how many endings are there
i wanna see it but havnt gotten to it yet cause lazy..
anyway one was the directors cut that you all are talking about
the other alternate ending is sumthin like where he goes in time back 2 his birth and kills himself in his mums womb.

There's just 2 endings to see, to my knowledge. But you should definitely get the DVD, watch the original cut, then FFWD through the director's cut until the end just to check it out. Or vice versa

| Originally posted by Wicked Neo That is the retail ending, where he watches the home movie . . . but i don't think he intended to kill himself, i think he made a mistake, earlier in the film, his mother tells him that he is her miracle baby because the first 2 were still born . . i think he put on the wrong movie, the movie was from one of the first two births and he killed himself in the womb by accident. I belive his intent was to go back to when He was born and start over. |
I thought the one where he killed himself alluded to the fact that the other "still born" kids did the same thing to avoid having to go through with life. Just my opinion of it.
i just recently saw that movie, and i wasn't impressed with some of the acting or the way it was laid out...
the idea was genius though, i just think it had so much more potential...i felt like there was too much going on and they were trying to fit it all in, so they would take some significant parts/details and sum it up in like a 1 minute scene...should have just made the movie longer. the mother of ashton was a horrible actress, she annoyed me. it was definitely easy to follow though and very interesting, i guess it was the no name actors that made is sort of cheesy for me...i didn't even like ashton's acting in it...
the only decent actress was amy smart
