Stanton DJ-Pro 3000 & DJ-Pro 2000 headphones

Have them somebody tried?
I want to buy them,but...
A friend of mine have them, they look good, the sound is also good,
but dunno how it is about durability. I am afraid they can break like Pioneer HDJ1000 or Sony 700s.

And how it is about Stanton DJ-Pro 2000 ones?

Posted by Dervish on Sep-21-2004 00:21:

I've had the 2000's for 3 yrs of heavy use with no problems.

Posted by Tiger777 on Sep-21-2004 08:38:

I've bought them 3 weeks ago. So far so good allthough. But I do recommend you to drop a small amount of oil into the turning mechanism. That way, it works smoother.

I have them and love them. I've had them for about 6 months with regular use and not a problem yet.

i was wanting to know the same about the new 3000's,

im gonna be buying a new set of phones soon and i was wanting to get some comparison input about these 3

MDR-700
HDJ-1000
DJ Pro- 3000/2000

ive heard the sonys break easy and the ones that they had on display at best buy were coincedently broken at the swivel

i hear that the pioneers are really good as far as sound quality but i think im gonna go for the stantons b/c of the overall look/stats/and features of them

just wanting some feedback from experience...

thx

Get the stanton 2000. The 3000 is a fair bit more expensive than the 2000 and as far as I've heard, it's VERY comparable.

The 2000s are ugly as hell though.

I think the 3000 is. It has these ugly blue leds sticking out of your ears...

You own them though, right? Just curious on how you think their build quality is. They look like sonys but im hoping they arent built like them.

Posted by djlemeir on Sep-23-2004 22:33:

the 2000s are rock solid.
1 yr hardcore usage... no problemo.

the 3000s look like sony knockoffs
cheap if u ask me

I own the 2000's. I've had them for a month or something now I guess. When I used them at first, I had doubts about the build quality of the turning mechanism. It's felt kinda tough and vulnerable. But after the drop of oil, the shells turn smoothly

They say the 3000 are internally almost the same as the 2000's but quite a bit expensive. For now, I can say the price/quality of the 2000's is excellent.

As for the build quality of the 3000's, I haven't read one bad review about it. If it's the same mechanism as the 2000, it shouldn't be a problem...

Posted by Exodus17 on Sep-24-2004 16:55:

yea i kinda agree the 2000s are somewhat ugly, not horribly so, but not anything special either

personally i love the way the sonys look feel and sound but the fact theyre so prone to breaking is why i havent bought em...

i figure im gonna spend a good $100 bucks on headphones and id like em to be durable, the sony v600 is a great model but i find it to be somewhat bulky when its sitting on my shoulders so thats why im shooting for a model with the swivel mechanism and round cups, as soon as ive saved up im gonna buy a pair of ST-150s and the 3000s match well with em IMO

my main concern is are the 3000s as durable as the 2000s?

Posted by Tiger777 on Sep-24-2004 18:40:

they've only been around a few months so it's pretty much hard to say...

Posted by Greedy on Sep-27-2004 18:48:

i would avoid them. There are other better options imo.

News:
A friend of mine have them for month and they are already broken!

I dont understand this. Nobody can make DJ headphones with good durability?

Posted by Trance Nutter on Oct-08-2004 11:38:

^ thats the 3000s?

damn, I can get some cheap, might rethink that now.

jeez, gotta agree with you though, why can't people make some that will last two years?!?

Yep, it is the new 3000...
Two years? Read about the guy that had to 5x replace his Pioneer HDJ-1000. And pioneers are the most expensive headphones on the market I think... WTF?

Posted by beats and beeps on Oct-08-2004 17:10:

Just curious, where did they break? At the joint like the sonys?

Yeah, that was Freak.
If you bought some headphones, and they lasted two years, you'd wouldn't consider that to be too bad and if they sounded good you'd buy another pair, so its not a bad business move to have SOME durability in them.

Can't believe that all these headphones break so easily, its a joke.....

Lol
That'll be me then
BEYOND a joke
The final pair went back- i will not have another pair, unless they are a) free and b) do not break again. even then i doubt i would use them for playing out, as i dont trust them. Kinda like a bird you take back after shes screwed your best mate- you know shes gonna do it again, its just a case of when.
Im working on a) by sending pioneer UK a really shitty letter.

p.s- needed some replacement screws for my sennheiser hd 25s headband- phoned their spares dept direct yesterday morning- couple of screws arrived this morning first class FREE OF CHARGE. now thats service
As for the sony 7506s- they are still AWOL in transit (10 days missing) thanks to parcelfarce uk, so cant comment on them yet- as soon as they arrive, expect a mini review

So what about those Stanton's, I'm just about to buy some headphones and I'm between the Stantons 2000, the 3000 and the Techs DH1200....

Has ANYBODY tried the 2000 or the 3000 ? is the loudness between these 2 comparable ?

Posted by Dervish on Mar-10-2005 17:50:

I've got the 2000's v. loud really, not bad sounding tall either.

Posted by Dhagor on Mar-10-2005 19:58:

my advice - save a little bit more and get technics - not the newest model but the previous one. i've tried many headphones and these are the best in their pricerange hands down.

Posted by Timski on Mar-11-2005 00:58:

I own the 3000's... I brought them mainly as a comfort issue, I dont play out so i just wanted nice comfy cans and i like them personally... (it came down to them or the techs 1200) The first pair broke on me tho and upon going back to the store i was assured by the guy that it was one release of them that had a faulty headrest... i have since had them replaced about a year ago and there still going strong...

main reason i didnt like the techs was because they have there cord on the right side can... when you listen with your left ear you have a dangler in your face... and you dont need that shit

Posted by Allied Nations on Mar-11-2005 02:56:

stay away fromt he 3000s, mine broke ill post pics and right now are superglued, since iliv ein india i cant follow up on the warranty, id stay away from then, buti love the rmeovable cord,... it has everything but build quality....

ur choice.
