Tuesday 21st Sept - 10am UK Time - Pre-Ashes Warmup

Not sure if any of the tv stations over in Au are showing it, but if they are you'll know that it's the ICC champions trophy here in England (shite time of year to hold it, but the icc suck anyway) and After you beat the Kiwis & we defeated Sri Lanka, it's a pre-ashes warmup 7 or 8 months ahead of the main thing next uk summer. Will be very nice to see how we match up, our one day side isn't as strong as the Test team, but it should be fun, so best of luck to ya, and hoping we have a good game.

Paulie - Phil - Gumble - Joel - Oli - fraggle - etc - Bring it on

(and no need to say england aren't as good as au, we all know that )

Not saying we'll beat ya, just nice to have a match between the 2 of us, where we are definitely a better side than the last time we crossed paths, doesn't mean we're good, just not as bad

so that means a margin of 100 runs? or 7 wickets?

Wish I had Foxtel do I could see this though, should be a good game really, and I don't get to see enough cricket during the winter months. Can't wait till summer. That reminds me too, gotta renew my SACA membership - another 230 down the drain

On a side note - GO POWER!!!!!!!

England won toss, put your lot in.

259-9 off 50 overs, pretty good comeback by the english bowlers after one or two early good partnerships, weather very windy and a bit gloomy, but what do the icc expect in mid-late september in England

Got a nice affo left listening to Botham & your legend Deano on commentary

Yeah was watching a bit of the game in the pub earlier this evening .. was looking a bit iffy when Hayden and Gilchrist both went, though I didn't see much of the rest.

It's not like your batsmen can match our bowlers though

The time is nearly upon us to see I'm not expecting an easy ride or a big score from us, but I'm interested to see just how far we have come, you always want to rate yourself by how well you play against the worlds best teams, and this is our chance for now

Interesting, four fast bowlers and no full time spinner, relying on Boof, Clarke and Symonds obviously to make up ten overs between them, probably not a bad strategy................

Not gonna brag about it, but I am extremely pleased and proud of our boys for the fight and determination shown today.

It shows some of our new found mental strength a and belief that is something we've needed against your lot, I'm sure you're fed up of dismissing us for 60 each time

the battle in the ashes between Brett Lee & Freddie Flintoff looks like it will be immense, with Straussy introducing him to your boys in style, and Geraint Jones not needing to do so, so hard luck on the day, and look forward to locking horns again next english summer

we had to let them win anyway, they've had so much shit happening back home, im glad ina way that they did win, for the countries morale, forget the fact that its a final, i'd loved to have won yes, but losing im not bitter or anything, just think a win in it does more for ppl who need it now, esp after the grenadan storm blew their new cricket ground (which we played on in february) down
