Just finished this remake up. Really shows off what the Powercore PCI card with the Powercore|Virus can do. Suggestions and feedback are welcome!

Listening...

Difinite improvement on the kick, in respect to your other tracks. Percs. sound beautiful as always, although I would make the main hi hat a bit louder, but that's just my taste. I like this synth you have playing through the introduction of the track. The synth that comes in at 1:15 sounds very clean. Downside of this though, sounds a lot like the synth used in the original. 2:40 sounds very nice. Nice pads create a chill-out feel to the track, and this electric piano coming in now, very nice. The build-up at 3:35+ seems a little weak. When the kick drops back in, something seems to be missing from the track. Sounds a bit flat. Maybe a stronger pad in the background, or maybe some nice delay on the main lead to feel in the gaps. I love the fx pad you have playing in the background though. The spacy "wowy" sound. Beautiful addition.
As for the track as a whole, and I've mentioned this before on other remixes, but in my opinion a good remix is one that alters the track in a way that it is almost abstract to the listener. Either through the melody (changing a few notes here and there), changing the bassline to create a sad, happy, etc. effect, or whatever it may be. This remix sounds very similiar to the original. Overall, I enjoyed listening to this track, great track.

that's totally how I feel about "good" remixes too... but that wasn't really my aim on this one.. I was playing around with the MIDI I downloaded and it sounded so good that I made an entire track out of it (only put about 4 hours into it)

Well in that case, it's seems to be perfect to me. That was my only main problem with the track.

hi, just listened to your track and i must say im quite impressed. Very professional sounding and clear. I really like the drums and percussion on this track.

have you made any other tracks if so where can listen to them?

Keep up the good work.

Personally love the original song and this basically mimics it, and does a good job as well. Very clean sounding and crisp, not more to say... look forward to your next complete track!

my goal was more to do a good remake rather than a good remix.. i've accomplished that for the most part, i feel

good work mate....but I think you could change the main lead....maybe another sound....but it is only my opinion....

Posted by SgtFoo on Sep-20-2004 02:06:

i would add a bit of reverb and some sweet beatmatched pingpong delay on the lead in the beginning.

definitely better than your past works. the entire track from a mastering point of view needs a tad more high-end "air", and a bit more low end... more under the 180Hz range.

I really like the classic trance bassline you use. one thing to watch out for when you do a final mix is to make sure your track is mono-friendly... alot of clubs have stereo-summed-to-mono setups

excellent return of the main stuff around 3:49... nice and smooth.

keep up the great work!

the super 8 vs orkidea remix of this is one of my all time fav tracks
no joke
so much frikin emotion in this im still crazy about it
well ur kick percs and bass is very good, ur synth is a little empty, or atleast layer it, the track is really empty unless ur goal is that, to be sort of chilly
otherwise really chilly feel to it
maybe try adding somthing new? just experiment something hehe

thanks for the comments. I intended to leave it a little empty to give it a more "bouncy" or "jumpy" feel

i still think you should try and fill in the gaps of the track, while still being "jumpy". Try it out and post it up again, see how people react to it.

Didn't hear the original i believe.. so I wont say anything on the melody.

Damn I like the melody in this one, my god

Ok the oompa bass I don't like. But later in the track, when it all falls together, it's nice to listen to overall. Would still change the bass tho. Pads are ok.
Nice powerful kick.
Percs not too special, I'd add some.
Big break now. Nice to back the piano up with a synth. Still sounds a bit too rawish I guess.

Nice quality track m8!

nah.. i'm done with this one man.. 4 hours is my limit for a remix.. normally I don't touch remixes becuase you can't call it "yours"

lol alright man...

i dunno, for some reason, it sounds too simple to me, too similar to teh original

percussion is, as stated before, good... i think a little more background noise/fx needs to go in during the breakdown.

i would add something to make this remix a little more personal, a different lead perhaps

Posted by moth on Sep-22-2004 06:23:

Very nice! Everything is really well put together percussion wise. The lead is nice and minimal, which is good (can't always have a supersaw), lead sounds clear and warm. I'll leave it there seeing as it's a remake and any further comment would only really apply to a remix.

Posted by extalin on Sep-22-2004 13:35:

this is a really tight production. the sounds are all really phat (nice kick and bass) and it's really clear.

it's a tad on the simplistic side, but not by much.

good job.

edit: that wasn't really necessary or in context, so i took it off.
