Nu NRG live
When Nu NRG actually sample on stage instead of just mixing from track to track. Could anybody explain to me just how this works? I know I'm an idiot...
from what I've seen, it's a pretty half-assed live PA.
The tracks are pre-programmed via laptop, with midi data being sent to the synths.
All they do live is
Add effects with an effects pad
Adjust filters and envelopes on synths.
Oh, really? I was expecting much more from the hype they've recieved for this. But then again, what more can you expect live? Still impressive.
you can expect a lot more live, drum machines, keyboards and lots more check out uberzone or lots of the psy trance acts like infected mushrooms for a good live show
infected mushroom for a good live pa? hahahahahahah ....garbage!
not to say their music is...but their live pa is crap...
Best live Pa,
1) Chicane
2) Push at trance energy, 2002 I believe...
and this one I saw personally.... back in 2001.... BT...used 9 keyboards.... 3 in front, and 3 to each side....awesome show....
the setup they had here in calgary was awesome when I saw them, didnt say they were the best just a lot better than nu nrg
well i saw nu nrg live and i didnt see anything big there ... i thought it would be different to be honset

nu nrg live r pretty good but ive heard that they play the same set everytime they play
Special live-only mixes of Nu-NRG tracks =
ive seen them twice (their first 2 UK dates ever in early 2003) and they were very good (most people didnt know who they were back then, and even tho id known about them from their orgasmatron sets, i still enjoyed it
) they did play the same set. i guess even with freefall their discography is too limited to allow for much variation in their live sets

After seeing many Live PA's now i've come to realise that they are usually incredibly dull and pointless. Nu-NRG's are amnogst the dullest of all really. Other's to miss imo include MIKE, L-Vee, Lab 4, etc. None of these are actually live; they're just pre-planned tracks and the artist will chuck in a few effects to try and look the daddy. Your not fooling anyone nob cheese!
But ones I will recommend are Hybrid and Underworld. Both do fantastic Live PA's and actually do put a lot of effort into actually performing numerous sequences and melodies live.
lol ive never been assed if someone is performing "live" or not, i go to see em spin, and spin their own style of music. Very rarely get to hear any of Nu-NRGs tracks, but an entire set of them is awesome, so glad i made it to Cream Opening Party in Liverpool with PvD and Nu-NRG
