What would be the best tts for someone just starting out?
Citronic PD-1
Numark TT200
or
Omnitronic DD-2250 or DD-3250
Ive heard the omnitronics are fairly similar to 1200s, are the 2250s ok? Or will the 3250s be alot better for a bit more? Also, people on a budget seem to really like tt200s,are they any good or are they fairly crappy?
I'm on an extreme budget, and planning on buying second hand. Which would offer the best bang for buck?
Thanks.
Someone is selling a 3250 for $200AUD, will probably get it for 180 incl. postage. Is this a good deal? I need answers quick cause its going fast lol
THanks.!!

Are they good turntables? The omnitronics or whatever?
Anyone?
looks like you're gunna have to wait until Vash or tu_face get online............
check out Ebay at the moment, dunno if they are any good but there are a pair of Pioneer 3500s, or some Stanton STR8-60s (seriously cheap ~$300).
Talk to Derringers, they might be able to do you a deal for a pair too.
Don't rush in though, just wait a bit - as soon as I thought I got a good deal, some better ones popped up. Just keep an eye on ebay.......
the rumour is that these decks are the same spec as 1210's but just cheaper and have +-10% pitch range (yay!). the motor specs look VERY similar, as do the rest of them:
Type: Manual turntable
Drive-method: Quartz-controlled direct-drive
Motor: Brushless 24 V DC-motor
Speed: 33 1/3 RPM and 45 RPM
Change-time between the speeds:
33 -> 45 RPM in < 1 sec.
45 -> 33 RPM in < 1 sec.
Pitch adjustment: 10 % via fader
Initial torque: More than 1.0 kg/cm
Wow & Flutter: < 0,15 % WRMS
Start time: < 1 sec.
Stop time: 1.2 sec. (1/4 rotation)
Rumble: 50 dB DIN B
Platter: Outer diameter 320 mm
Weight 682 g
Tonearm: S-shape with Cardan's suspension
Tonearm-length: 230,5 mm
Overhang: 20 mm
Adjustable stylus-pressure 0-4 g
Anti-Skating-range: 0-7 g
and the new one (dd-5250) looks very nice, with reverse functions, sexier casing and more speeds.
to be honest though, i have never used an omnitronic deck. they may well be decent cheap stuff and bnlow the budget competition away with that, but i do have my doubts that it will last as long as the top decks around (1210, pdx2000, st-150 etc). if i were you i would try and find somwhere to have a go on them first if you can
as for tt-200's, yeah they are ok to start with. its not like they are crap or anything, although it may be worth your while looking at the tt-500 if you can afford it, they have VERY strong motors. the specs on the omnitronics do look better though, its just untried and untested on my part
Whoa, now thats what i was wanting to hear! Thanks tu_face
I'm pretty much decided on buying it now (also got a recommendation from a DJ i know), learning, and then probably moving onto some 1200s later on. Thanks for your help guys!
just looked at the dd-5250 specs again, you'll have to ask vash or dj tranz for confirmation (they sell stuff for a living) but it looks like a super OEM deck
