Computer Advice
I really need to break down and buy myself a new computer. Im going to have some extra money coming up, but I really dont want to spend a fortune on one either. I just want something thats good for surfing the web and one that has a decent size HD for MP3s and porn..JK about the porn.. hahah
are Dells any good? what about buying a computer from ebay? i only want to spend about 450 max...for now...i'll upgrade later if i have the money.
thanks for any advice.
hmmm....i've got a dell right now. i'm not the hugest computer dork, but i think it has like 655 MB of RAM and 40 GB of memory. it works fine for what you want, but i didn't get it for 450. can you even get computers for that cheap nowadays? i think this one was like 650-700...don't remember to be honest...

well that's why i was thinking maybe ebay...i'm sure a lot of people build computers and sell them online (i used to know someone who made a living that way).
or what about buying one from someone who just doesn't need it any more and puts it on ebay? i saw one listed (dell) that was only a year old and barely used (as stated by the seller) for like under $400. i don't care if it's been used or if it's a year or 2 old.
no i meant like the whole package...lol is that being unrealistic?
ok what's the least amount of money i can spend on a decent computer?
well...i would say that ebay would probably be the best way to find something in that price range. i don't know though...i'm always really hesitant to buy stuff like computers off ebay...that's a lot of money to entrust to someone you don't know ya know?

Dell's cheapest model is $499. But if you go to something that's $599+ it's free shipping, so you're better off that way since shipping is expensive.
It depends on what you want. I wouldn't use Dell because they change parts a lot. You never know what you'll get. I work for a computer company and we build pc's. I might be able to get you a deal, but I would need to know what you want. They give me an employee discount and all.

Do you guys think its worth the money yet to buy 19'' LCD screens?
if so, what brand should i look for and the ones I shouldn't!
thank U!
boomer, i really don't want to be bothered with buying a computer piece by piece and then having someone put it together. i know it's probably a lot cheaper, but i'm far from a computer geek and wouldn't know where to start...your message was like chinese to me. lol
nite-mer i'll PM you.
of course i want a kick ass system, but right now, i just want the bare minimum. i'll upgrade later to a nicer monitor and stuff.
