They should have f*ckin battled tonight, to see who the crowd favorite is.

Any1 know the dope track Sasha canned early in his set, which had some breaks, a looooooong drop and then the male vocals, "Get it Down" or "Lets get down?"

sorry but sasha owned pvd last night...pvd tried alittle too hard if you ask me and sasha...well sasha was his normal self, seem like he wasn't even looking at his record or mixer at any time of his mix...and of course the googly eye he naturally sports...i dont think sasha would ever be able to spin if he did it sober, for some reason it seems like he just feels the music

Time of our lives? I hate that song!!

I thought PVD was better up until he dropped that song. I wasn't feeling the first 20 minutes of Sasha's set.

I was feeling Sasha def more than PVD. I left toward the end of PVD's set because it wasnt worth hurting my feet even more to hear him. But Sasha made me forget all about that. Sasha was def feeling the music and the crowd. I saw him watching us and smiling from time to time.

sasha fooking owned it...pvd just wasnt doin it for me...im tired of for an angel...im tired of all his own productions...id rather hear dj rap again...btw...due to my position at the club (way up front)...i saw sasha was wearing some pretty comfy shoes...

All I know is that when PVD showed up on stage, everyone to the right of me was chanting PVD PVD PVD and seemed to have forgotten that Sasha was even spinning(which was very wrong to do) While Sahsa was on, I had room to dance. When PVD showed up on stage, I got pressed up against the rail and had no room to dance. It was all good, especially since I had a 6" hot blonde chick wrapping her arms around me, groping me and just being "fresh" to keep it under NC-17. too bad I found out she was married. I'm not into messing with that shit. Bro's before hoes. Single people only for me.

wow i cant believe I have the complete opposite opinion, i feel like sasha was trying too hard, and wasnt working off the crowd at all

i thought that dj rap (was she the chick?) tore it up though.. and im looking forward to catching her next set.. i thought it was funny that dj rap played all rock music=)

sasha owned pvd.

i'm pretty tired of pvd's style. it's got nothing on sasha's whole breaks, prog, and just damn good danceable taste....

best moment of the night was right before sasha gave it off to pvd during cyberwhore. right before a huge bass drop pvd and sasha were both jumping around dancing. never thought i'd see something like that...

Yea I saw that too hehehe

the last 15 min of sasha's set was phenomenal. Before that, the ridiculously boring prog kinda sucked.. anyone have IDs to those last 4 tracks sasha played? they were insane!!

both were great!

no need for comparisions

wasnt feeling the music before and after sasha and pvd however but it was a great night overall, so much fun and saw alot of people we knew.. i wish they did that more often

I totally agree. Sasha was putting me asleep for the first 15-20 min of his set. after that, he tore it up!

I totally disagree. Pvd totally brought the energy of the club up 10 notches. Mad peeps were just standing around bopping heads until PVD cames on. I agree, not exactly an amazing set, but IMO it ws the best set of the night. Sasha's last half of his set was really really good. But overall, Paul rocked it. Although I don't really like Time of our lives, I sang every friggin word out loud to it. He dropped it a the right time so it fit in.

sasha owned pvd...because....sasha is better than pvd!!!!!

but isn't that pauls signature? the bassline that no other can replicate? it gets old after a while, yea it brings the energy but does it necessarily tickle the pickle. Im not hating on pvd as I am a fan of him myself, but this high-energy pounding bass is growing old. Maybe it was new to me at the time, but i clearly dont remember (and i hate to mention it or refer to it) but his sets at twilo hardly showed hard bassline after hard bassline. What i DO remember about those times was that his bassline was wasn't dictating the flow of the set, but rather the height of the set. im not sure if i am conveying this properly, but as it seems "the pvd hand crush" is predictable now, and its predictable to the next bassline drop, and so on and so forth. its like anything in life, you do it too much you'll get bored of it. rather than build up the anticipation and then drop it on you.

ie: tillman uhrmacher - on the run -- at the time he played tracks similar to this there was noooo deep bassline drop but rather a steady focus on flow. brought up the energy 2-3tracks later to only drop it once again. thats how i feel sets should play out, granted he only had an hour and was trying to destroy the club (which he clearly was and if bass=hammer strength, im sure he would of torn the club down wrecking ball status). i dont know, bassline after bassline gets old for the legs to keep on bouncing...

The first 20 min of Sasha's set almost had me going to buy 3 Red Bulls. At least he made up for it.

Isn't it about what style you like? Most of the sets that I download from Sasha are ho hum. That's just me. PVD is much harder which I like.

agreed man. I feel like pvd's really gotten narrowminded with his choice of music and djing style. he's far too predictable now and, quite frankly, just bores me. i am a pvd fan, but the way he's playing now is nothing like he did 3 years ago so he's definitely losing fan points with me .you can talk about how boring sasha's prog is and all, but nothing is more boring than a monotonous set of floorfiller driving basslines.

And sasha's first 15 minutes kicked ass. That spacey breaks song into that ridiculous remix of ride? That was just ridiculous...

Yeah, I hear you Bryan. But it was an hour set. what kind of build up can you expect him to have before getting into his sig. PVD style?
Plus, when PVD was playing tillman Uhrmacher - on the run and other such tracks, mad people were saying PVD's getting fluffy and he's just not the same. I myself liked him either way, but I prefer the way he is playing now.

ach...i dont mind the non stop bass pounding my ears into oblivion...i do mind the tracks he keeps using over and over and over again to get this feel...but if it was a 6 hour pvd night...i would go insane and start pounding my head on walls from the boredem of nonstop bass pounding. i like sasha over pvd...but thats just cuz i prefere prog and breaks over trance. A couple years back id be sayin the complete opposite.

I really, really hate that Ride song. In my top 10...

Sasha gets too alternative for me, it's hit or miss. And I think he's an asshole to boot....

I used to love PVD...but he just doesnt do it for me anymore.

When you have an hour, you can bring your best to the tables and not worry about fillers. To me, PVD has turned into...

Sasha doesnt expect you to walk out liking everything. But even if you didnt like it, you can see his creativity with it.

With PVD, he just throws that hard driving repetitive bassline with boring simple melodies layed over them. For some reason, everyone goes crazy.

werd both sick sets i recorded it and it will be up on the "Hub" in an hour or so. The recordings came out really good.
