Best Budget Turntables???
hi guys, i'm looking for a turntables that are quality, but on the inexpensive side. i'm fairly new to turntables and am not competely sure of the specifications i should be looking for when determining what is better then something else. any help with that would be appreciated. i'm looking to spend between $5-600CDN (canadian dollars) even if thats a used price for a set, and possibly a mixer in that price range if possible...suggestions with mixers also appreciated!!!
people will tell you why dont u save up and buy technics hahahaha
i suggest you try the numark TT-500 a fairly decent price and i know alot of people that love em...
ive been using omnitronic dd2250s for abtr 2 yrs now... they work okay, even tho the motor sucks... but if you can play on these, you can play on ANYTHING!! the coolest thing abt them was the first mix i did on them was perrfect :P
people will probably bang this but..
i bought a numark dj in a box set. came with 2 tt1625s, dm950, 2 groove tools and headphone. bought it for under 500 us dollars. i am very happy with them. torque is a little low, so if you have a heavy hand youll sometimes stop the platter. but i found that by getting plain slipmats and polishing the platter and coating the bottom of the mat, it takes care of that. the groove tools arent the greatest but you can replace those.
i bought the cheaper decks because i dont have a lot of money, going to high school and working doesnt leave much room. so i had to go inexpensive. i know a guy that has the same setup, just with new needles and his sets are just as good as some bigger names such as scott blackwell.
used 1200's off ebay
i've got numark tt-200's... they're straight.
My god... Numark builds the most shitty decks I know and ppl love em? (same with Omnitronics that go crazy when a cellphone is near).
Have a look at the JB-Systems T-3 / Reloop RTX 5.5 (same decks). These are the ultimate turntables to start with: Good arm (improved, the previous version had a slight error which causes anti-skating even when it's set to 0), cheap, and very good motor.

No, their technical data. Such as a very lousy arm without any decent bearing, a worthless motor (some of them with plastic platter), no internal isolation...
Ummmm.....Technics?

thanks guys, those JB-Systems T-3 look sweet. but much higher then a 'budget'
i don't think its fair to say nu mark is bad...thats like saying, armin van buuren is bad because you didn't like burned with desire or something along those lines. you can only comment on what you've experienced (then again who am i, maybe you have had enough experience, including there high end models, so i can't judge) but from looking around, i've liked what i've seen...
after looking around, a few i've narrowed down are:
numark tt200-500 (whats the difference between these models) or
stanton str8-80
can anyone plz comment on these and what you know...thanks...also mixer help under $200US is also appreciated...thanks
