NYTA in Chicago - Need some help!!!

Well as most people who visit NYC and search contacts over here, I for the one will be in Chicago on business/pleasure during the first week of October. Now before you start throwing party dates in the thread, lets just say I'll be there Monday-Wednesday/Thursday, so partying isn't quite in the schedule.

What I am looking for is some down to earth people who are willing to show this nyc kid a good time. I've already been there once with the company, but now I'm there solo doing global transformation training for our Chicago Office. I would love to catch some good food and some sites if anyone would be up for it.

If not, thats cool, you'll just have a new yorker roaming the streets of chicago. I'll most likely be staying at the Swissotel Hotel in downtown Chicago near the Navy Pier. Drop me a line here or a PM if you want to meet up. I'm definitely looking to hang out with some people...

there should be some stuff going on at bars on monday night for MNF.

Ok so no one wants to tour this kid around, atleast can you name a few places for me to see? How about a chinatown? Is there a chinatown for me to get some food in? Someone help me here! haha

Personaly I can't really advice you on anything to visit but I would recommend checking out http://www.frommers.com/destinations/chicago/
I always gather good info from that website in regards to what's worth visiting.

try going to www.metromix.com and you can search restaurants by location and type of food. i did a search for you on chinatown, click here

they also have some events and stuff listed on there too. hope it helps.

I wish I could help out but I dont do very much time in Chicago other than going out to clubs on weekends mostly. I'm not too keen on where the best places to eat are either.

I hope you have fun in Chicago though.

Making it to the top of the Sears Tower or Hancock may be interesting. But not quite as grand a view as NYC.

I'm actually looking at a bar/lounge that I can go to during the weekdays that play EDM? I'm not looking for a club night or anything, just a place to have a few drinks and meet some people, see the scene etc. As Chris(Porky) puts it, nyc has spoiled me since thats where I originate. Over here, we have bars/lounges pumping edm all days of the week. Not to mention local weeknight parties thrown by those aspiring groups including myself.

So if any ladies want to go out to have a few drinks, any guys that want to sit down and shoot the shit at a decent bar with decent music let me know. I'm completely up for game!

Sure I'm down as long as I know there will be a crowd there and some EDM I honestly dont mind just grabbing a few drinks. I just fear rolling up to some bar improperly dressed and empty inside. Whats the turn out like - etc

I'm down. There really is no dress code at Zentra. As long as you look presentable. Yes they do have a coat check if that's what you want to call it. It's basically a table that they set in front of an open area beneath some stairs.

OK cool. I land in Chicago around 6 then probably head over to my hotel and check in, want to grab dinner? Do you work/live in the city? I'm on East Wacker by the Navy Pier...how far is zentra from there. Suggestions?

That works for me. I live by O'Hare airport and work in the Loop. Best bet is if I drive since Zentra isn't close to Navy Pier at all.
