Love is in the air favorite labels

I'm obsessed atm with Hed Kandi, I've sort of been going back and forth between genres lately. I stopped listening to Deephouse for like a month and attempted to listen to "prog trance" if u can call it that, stuff that Schulz usually drops, but it's the same tunes over n over/abused. There is a limit to how many times you can listen to TV Dinner etc.
I'm back to my true love, deephouse, rawkin out to Hed Kandi, what a godly label. Any of you been sticking to a particular label?

Lots of threads on this, but the reposts always ending up by exposing me to new great labels.

im still a big fan of Release Records. Trancewise, I like Lost Language, In Trance we Trust, and Tsunami puts out some good pressings

Posted by Kooshtie on Sep-25-2004 04:29:

well i think i was aiming more at house labels to be honest, trance labels nowadays are broke as hell, and mainly consist of anjuna beats, lost language, and armada, oh yea blackhole...pff, thats that really, at least for the stuff u hear dj's drop. Also checkout Soulfuric, and Swing City records. If u got any good releases off em', feel free to tell.

yeah I was shooting for more of an all time thing. Sorry, didnt read the first post too cleraly either. As far as house goes, I like Kucho's label Disc Doctors, City Rockers, Weekend Records. Not sure if its deep house, as i just lump all house together, but maybe give some of their tunes a listen...

this just further proves my point, that trance is a stinky floater.. i hope ur jokeing that IDT is ur favorite label, anyway after naming all those except for Bonzai, this just shows that all nubs listen to are the labels I/you mentioned...

haha, as if a guy who likes hed kandi is talking down to people about their favourite labels

hk is the gayest 'handbag' mullet-sporting trend out there at the moment..

hed kandi - its not big, its not clever, its not better, you look like a raging queer....put em high

Posted by PatMcGroin on Sep-25-2004 11:51:

without a doubt En:Vision is my fav label (omfg, madam breaks, c83, kraymon, future funk squad, yummmmy stuff )
and their sister label, Re:Connect

some other favs...Distintive Breaks, Hope (grayarea, hyper), Bedrock and Bedrock Breaks , Finger Lickin, Mob, i would say Vandit if it didn't take them forever and ever to release stuff.

Global Underground and Lost Language as was mentioned before too

there are just too many great labels...i find it very hard collecting all vinyls from one label, there are just too many goooood ones

Posted by sleepydragon on Sep-25-2004 12:09:

i agree about hed kandi its just full of stuck up trendies who spend most of there time slagging of other clubs and genres which by the way they probably liked the week before

Posted by DJ Intrigue on Sep-25-2004 13:34:

Bedrock
Fade
Plastic City
SAW
Yoshitoshi/Shinichi
Sumsonic
Baroque/Method
Airgap

Lost Language, Bonzai/sublabels, and other than that I don't know.

Armada/ASOT are mostly a crap label, but I have to admit they release some great tunes somtimes. Same with Anjunabeats (well, they used to be top quality, now they only release a great tune once in a while)

Posted by jcosgrove on Sep-25-2004 14:52:

Lost Language
Electronic Elements
Euphonic
Precinct
Somatic Sense
Unity Records

Posted by Halcyon+On+On on Sep-25-2004 15:02:

PERFECTO!

No, really, Black Hole has obviously churned out some good stuff int he past and Ultra did a good job with the Northern Exposures...

Global Underground puts out a lot of good CDs as well ^_^

Posted by Kooshtie on Sep-25-2004 15:35:

let's get this straight... i'm not tryin to make elitist labels...but obviously if you fuckin pick armada, bonzai and anjuna beats even IDT as a favorite haha, don't ever call me a noob for liking Hed Kandi...cuz ur the obvious choice for nub of the year. "Trendy"???? haha , laff, fuck you, so ok if you like Pvd, Fairy, or Armin/Tiesto, I will call anyone trendy from now on, and considering no artist on that label is really trendy or mainsteam, I don't even know where you're coming from.....yes I mean artists like Peyton and Stonebridge are on MTV alll the time...

If my new thing is being a label elitist, then your new thang is being a dunce who hates on deephouse. Fuckin right, Put em High' bitch! (Seamus Edit)

ps - i like Swing City artists just as much as others, so don't try callin me trendy, i'm runnin this rap shit kthnx.

There are some record labels that I have nearly complete confidence to buy a vinyl, and that track will be good, whether I have heard it or not.

I used to buy anything I saw that was released on the Pied Piper and Flammable UK labels. And was never disappointed. I was also a great lover of Additive and Neo during '98 and '99.

But, Bonzai has to be my favourite, some the work produced, consistently is in another world. And you can't mention Bonzai without Green Martian and Tranceportation. I believe these are affiliated in some way.

I also like the following:

Limbo/23rd Precinct
Fluid
Whoop
Platipus

Posted by 3xx3r7 on Sep-26-2004 01:39:

Do you mean Imperfecto?

Anyway, here they are:

1. Vandit
2. Bonzai
3. Platipus
4. Armada and its subdivisions: ASOT, Armind, EE, Captivating, etc.
5. Anjunabeats

Posted by arturob on Sep-26-2004 02:03:

EE

Posted by torontotrance on Sep-26-2004 02:46:

EE = CRRRRRRAAAAAAAP
Vandit = Tired
Anjuna = ZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Armind = Lame Cash Grab

now that I got that out of the way

4:20
Hope
TCR

and my new fave Kissthatass records, watch for it.
