ok.
i was chcking the forums and read some weird stuff. so i decided to make this thread so you ppl can post your opinion about genres and how to define them. all edm genres wellcome.

btw. PLEASE DONT MAKE WORTHLESS ARGUMENTS. JUST SAY WHAT YOU THINK.

Hi !
Good forum.

To my knowlede and experience, you have the following type of genres within Trace.

Gothic
Melodic
Progressive
Psych
Garage
Ambience.

Within EDM itself, you have TRANCE, TECHNO, INDUSTRIAL, HOUSE!

Someone may correct me here.

what exactly is garage/gothic trance?

Garage Trance would be, playing layered loops and ambience music on Garage beats. For example, listen to mixes by DJ Cosmos and Mythos.!

Gothic Trance would be female vocal sounds, but no songs or lyrics. Just vocals.. For e.g. NU-NRG mixes. and A&B.

Get an idea ?.
