Question mooooore James Holden!

first and foremost, i can't believe that i can't stop listening to him. i've listened to balance 005 nearly 100 times now and i only first got into holden about 2 months ago!

his essential mix from 2002 is constantly rocking in my winamp, as are his exposure and gdjb sets. my question is this...

for a holden addict, what other great sets might be out there that i havent been blessed with

holden is the man and just makes me

please help a newly made holden addict out

I quite liked his live At Mazzo (Border Community Night) on 31-10-2003 set, but it is only an hour long. I am in the same boat as you and would also like to see some recommendations.

I have often wondered the same thing, Holden doesnt play out as much as the giant jocks and it seems that he is rarely recorded. Just like his production work, there just isnt enough holden to quench the thirst. Holden is THE MAN

Lately I've been listening to his ambient works that got percussion by a third party. It's a really sweet approach to making a track, and different than his usual stuff, but with the James Holden vibe.

Would you be so kind as to give us some track names?

Basically anything he was involved with that doesn't have his name explicitly or solely on it, i.e. James Holden vs. Ben Pound - Kaern Turned (which is Holden's Kaern track played alongside Ben Pound's Turn track), Mainline, etc...

MY GOD! This is absolutely sick, i'm now sitting and listening to somethin called James Holden - Balance 005 Disc 2. Aprox 35 minutes out there, it is this psycho tune.. it's absolutely amazing. This cd is the sound i've been looking for. It's the next step from what i used to trip to on ecstasy for years ago. It's so chill, so full of energy, so strange and so genious. Thanks to you who made this thread and opened my eyes for this dj and producer. I need to find track listing for this cd now, it's absolutely amazing.

What kind of music is this, it's definetively not trance. At least not as know trance..

his recent remixes (avus - fancy arse etc) were described as brilliant minimal analog techno

His mix of It's A Fine Day is what got me hooked on him in the first place.

Gwill Morris - Forme (Original Mix). Has a nice Leama & Moor remix as well.

Check out James Holden - Solstice and James Holden - Horizons if you're looking for his 'trancier' stuff. James Holden - One For You and James Holden - A Break In The Clouds are damn good as well.

Holden is the man
I'm fan #1

The frist holden set that I got was james holden - Live@Screen (Helsinki) 30-03-2002
Awesome set!
That was the frist time I heard nothing orignal mix ...altho now I think that the 93 is the best ever
