Claps...
I couldnt find any good clap samples. But how would do u compose yours> Do you use a little snare in it wih some reverb? im having trouble composing a cool sounding clap. Cheesy ones are easy.
use verb and delay on it and eq it.
I think noise-based claps can sound the best if done properly
yes but sometimes even combing a clap and the right snare with some verb and delay sound awsome
OYure both right, but thats true that noise based claps sound cool. Maybe a hint of distortion?
u could but its not a main trend for claps less its hard trance
to get the clap you want layering is the best way.. take 3 or 4 claps that when combined will have all the elements you are looking for.. IE one clap that has a good amount of snap.. another that has a lot of treble.. another that hassome good mids.. etc etc.. then EQ, Compress, and reverberate (in that order) to get this:
clap
if you have FL studio, download this to see how I did it
clap
compressor
some reeverb
compressor
little overdrive
eq
thats how I do my claps
Clap (long lenght)+gated reverb+eq+comp
Clap + Reverb + EQ
I Usually layer 2-3 claps together , eq, compress together, lots of verb and the i little distortion
The way I do mine is QuadraFuzz them in Cubase SX, stretch them 200-300%, compress them, reverb them, and then reverse the second half of the tail. It works good even with crappy samples.
i think too much of distortion can make ur claps sound hardtrancey
i usually work with eq/reverb/compressor...
i dont use claps... snares are far better
but anyway if u have a lame soundin clap or percussion u can do some cool stuff with a static flanger (its like a delay with a really low timing beetwin the delays...) it makes stuf sound bigger sometimes... and also eq it, a tip, sometimes making the freq u "dont want" louder makes it sound more complete... like boosting the mids instead of the highs in a hihat...

as I said. Here is a sample, how it sounds:

Anyone use Linndrum claps, like the 80's? I'm big on that now.
