I need help with Cubase SX 2
How can I transform in wav a little portion of a track played with a VST instrument ? For example from the measure 3 to 4 . . .
Respect
set the locators right and then export it..
or you can use the record feature which is a bit faster if you just need a quick transfer from vst to an actual file without leaving cubase.
Select the vst and an audio track, have them set on solo so it only records the 1 vst and not any other sound, and make sure the red circle is highlighted in each channel(record enabled).. Now click 'Record' to the right of the play button and it will record your vst into a wav format.

I'm doing as you described lee but when I record it just ends up with an empty wavfile...what is wrong?

sry for my very vague question
I had just woke up when I wrote it so I didn't think it through.
anyway, seems like it's just not possible to do this kind of thing with my RME Hammerfall DIGI9652 soundcard.
it works perfectly fine when I try it with my soundblaster (well the quality is horrible but it works) but it just doesn't work with the hammerfall.
now I've been thinking a little (omg!
). I have the analogue expansion that gives 8 analogue outs to the card but I don't use the analogue in expansion (in other words, I only have optical ins)
do you think this can have something to do with it?
Dunno about these spesific soundcards, but its prolly some internal routing in your soundcards that has to be set right. Use a control panel for your soundcard or similar to configure it.
