Trance Night Tonight

I know this is no warning at all, but me and DJ Kaelin will be spinning euphoric and hard trance tonight at Club Xtreme (a separate room within Sidekicks) located at Riverside and Congress (110 E. Riverside Dr.)! The cover will be $2 (if at all) and the age is 18+... cover stays the same! Also, lots of drink specials. Have a fun Wednesday night out. This is a trial run, so if tonight gets a bad turn out, it won't happen again at this club, so make sure to come!

Damn, talk about short notice...

Anyways, can't make it this week. But if all goes well tonight, then I'll see what I can do next week. After all, the place is like less than a minute away from where I live.

Just saw this posting today. I live 3 blocks from Sidekicks, I would have gone, with more notice.

How did it go? Did you get a mixed crowd, or was it mainly gay?

Unfortunately, not much of a crowd at all. Wednesday used to be latin night, so there were a couple of people there expecting latin, and instead they got Neo & Farina and SolarStone. I think that's an upgrade, lol, but that's me. I might be spinning trance in their smaller room on Monday from 11-2 (no cover that night), but I'm not sure. I'm kind of discouraged about that club. It looks like Wednesday nights will be hip-hop (really rap) night from now on, but I'm hoping to pick another night there and I'll give you all more notice. Sorry about that.

Oh yeah, the set sucked! I wasn't used to their mixer it all. It was one of those old radial RANE mixers that don't even let you cue more than one channel at a time. I have trouble beatmatching with one channel in my ear and the master channel coming from the monitor. I'm so used to the luxory of hearing two channels at once in my headphones. I would've been A LOT beter off with my $99 Behringer DJX-400... I always thought RANE was a good brand, but this one had to be 10+ years old.

To be honest, it wouldn't have affected me, but that is because that is the way I learned. It sucks when you run into a mixer you're not familiar with. I am so scared of that happening to me. Anyways, sorry to hear you were disappointed. I am still sure you did fine. Hope you can secure another night. Best of luck
