what got you into trance

i was wondering what got everyone here in to this music? i dont mean what song but was it a person, event or something like that. i first got started when i was sitting in my friends car in a 7-11 parking lot and he put on tranzworld 3. anyone else?

i used to be into electonica such as The Prodigy and Chemical Brothers, so i'm guessing it was inevitable that i started to veer for Dance electronica, where Trance suited my needs.

Thumbs up

Like so many Robert Miles for me... But more importantly for me the seeds were planted with Future Sound of London, they truly got me hooked on that 'sound' of trance.

i'm afraid the cheese master atb introduced me to trance.

For me, it started in 1994 with Techno & Happy hardcore (Westbam , Marusha and yes mister Scooter) , and then progressively since 1997 i went to Trance

me I used to go to Gabba Techno raves back in the day and listen to Djs like Clarkee, Scorpio, Mark EG, and M Zone, fuck sometimes actually wondered how I danced to Gabba techno hahahaha, around 1997 all rave music went shit actually to tell the truth it got shit in 96, so something new came along once Gabba techno was dying I picked the way of the trance.

My sister's a raver/clubber so she listens to trance and techno all the time.. so i heard it and liked it.

My best friend invited me to come over to listen to techno/trance, because I told him I dind't like it (but that was just because I only knew the mainstream tracks at that time). We spent all night (!) listening to music like DJ Fly, Emmanuel Top, Platipus tracks (like Red Herring from Union Jack), Mazzo-cd's (club in Holland), Billy Nasty, The Age of Love, etc. and started dancing in his living.
He died two years ago, but I'm trying to keep that part of his spirit alive by playing music I know he would love...

A bit similar happened to me excepto that in 1993 I started a bit with eurodance, but in '94 changed to happy hardcore & tschno too, yet in 1995 I got into trance, I was in Monterrey (North of Mexico) and went to my very first rave, there I heard DJ Mar T 9000 (now Martin Parra) and he played trance, the I got hooked!

it was around 2 years ago...I started listening to breakbeats, then I accidentally downloaded a trance song (blessing in disguise). and well, one song led to another and im here to stay

My has been listening to Jean Michele Jarre and Giorgio Moroder when i was younger. They are pioneers of electronic music and date back to the 70's. Well then i got into listening to their stuff and as time went by it rooted to what i listen to now which is John Digweed, Pvd and John Creamer & Stephane K

i got into it after i had started listening to hard nrg house. for the longest time i thought trance was waaaay too cheesy (up until then i had only been listening to hardcore and gabber) but nrg house & trance overlap a lot of the time and so i eventually got used to hearing it in that way. and now i almost dont want to hear anything else

Posted by AnglDust on Oct-06-2001 19:59:

I first heard it, and loved it, in 1998 I think. My sister had just bought a "Faithless" cd. But I never knew what the music was called and didn't hear it again. Then in 2000 PlasticE and Trancefusion introduced it to me again....now I can't stop listening to it

A buddy of mine said: Hey download this track and listen to it (it was off mp3.com)

But before my buddy got me into trance, i was listening to electronica, stuff like prodigy, orbital, chemical brothers. etc...

seriously if u think 2 unlimited is not dance ... c'est grave

Posted by Eye-Riz on Oct-08-2001 12:19:

maybe it's because I really hate it. Music and lyrics are so simple.
'est tout! But that's just my taste, and my way of defining music.
So please don't be offended by me
