Party Hat Carl B - In Tears

Hey,
new tune from me, very rough yet but I'll try finish it next week. Would like some feedback on the arrangement, melodies and... heck, give me feedback on everything

carl_b_-_in_tears [4'10'' - 4,47 mb ]

thanks!

Regards,
Carl

hmmmm
probably the second worst tune of all time ive ever heard
ofcourse #1 is Matt van Wyk vs. Sunquest - Reality

realllllly quality piece of work
as i told u before
this is another hit, should be on the backside of all day
sick bass beats, pads
juicy
melody owns, would kill a club i think,
just one thing, melody starts too late
and the whole song is too short
u always need 2 minutes in and 2 minutes out
for the dj
someone once told me this, but i forgot who :S
maybe james? hehe
anyways
GREAT track love it
peace out

just FYI, the tune is _not_ supposed to end like that

hmm i can hear the sad emotion.

But this track is not doing it for me, i do feel the Lead, but it screams for more Power imo.

Drums are really excellent, same with the perc, Bass is nice and it's working good with the kick.

I miss some kinda riff or arp in the intro/build to create an overwhelming feel with those strings/pads.

Some big choirs(bit big sounding ones like Albinoni) would really work in the intro/buildup as well.

The melody is really ace, but i miss the huge build and the exploding climax here.

Thumbs up

Amazing dude!

Sounds a bit like the M.I.D.O.R & Six4Eight sound! really good mate!

This is sounding good Carl, all of your stuff is excellent!

Posted by midaV on Oct-01-2004 00:17:

Im loving the arrangement, good stuff, nice solid layout...

Although the melody is nothing i'd care to listen to more then once( you know's those songs that you get up in the morning anxious to listen to again?) ya, it could have used a better melody that stood out more, seemed a bit dull for some reason.(only my opinion though)

Other then that you got some cool fx going on, keep it up carl!

good stuff man as always, i do agree that it could do with an extra layer or something when it kicks back in tho

Sounds great! Man you sure get some fat sounds, I guess your mixing skills are highly refined. Nice melody too, great uplifting buildup and awesome fx.
I think I have to agree with the others though, I could have used some really bright pads / choir in the build-up ( around 4:36 in this sample ). You know, the ones that actually make you break out in a sweat on the dancefloor.
Truly inspiring work!

awesome track carl!!! your tracks been gettign a great response here in california, specially in raves =) , nice job and keep up the excellent work

Posted by alexpea on Oct-02-2004 02:23:

Wow, this tune really gets me going! I'm feeling that once I press that play-button, the tune is in total control over me. The strings are awsome!! And I love the way you fade in the melody, so that I have to listen very carefully to how the melody is made..And at the moment when I thoght I had figured out how the melody was going to progress (04.01), you add those massive low notes to make the melody into a totally awsome arpeggiated melody! OH! (04.08) You're the man!

Wicked. Just wicked. Really Anjuna meets Armin sounding.

Posted by djkyo on Oct-02-2004 03:59:

anjuna meet armin? hell mno this is waybetter then alot of anjuna and armin productions.....

This track is awesome, just like your last one

Posted by .A.Y. on Oct-02-2004 12:39:

massive kick!
there are some weird percs that left&right panned at the start of the track.. you should remove them ;\
they sound bad..

massive bass!
heh

till now its great

the string is cool but not warm enough

finally the melody came

i think the break is too long & boring

try add a beat or something
and make her shorter

the melody is nice but i don't know..
something is missing in the main part..
its not full enough..
maybe adding some percs will help
or another melody in the background

except that.. awesome track!
good luck in the future

Ill try finish it soon..

Sounds good to me so far mate! Lead is kick-ass as always. I did recognize a melody you sent me though, is it correct? Good thing you decided to use it cause it's very fine.

I do believe it sounds a tad empty at parts. Especially when the climax comes. Buildup needs some of your usual big choirs/pads I think - then it'll be alright

Cheers,
Wim

I'd love to hear the finished product. Sweet tune.

Nice, I'm liking the sad feel of this, from the pads, etc... Perc is sounding good. The build up is maybe just a bit repetative, could use maybe another synth melody to fill it up and make it sound more dynamic.

Breakdown is very sad and mysterious sounding, I like that, moves the hairs on the back of my neck

The rest of it is quite a standard melody but somehow it works really well, don't know what itis that sets it apart, probably the chord progression and the sad element that's already there.

Nice work, would like to hear a tighter-sounding, more complete version, if you manage that then you'll have a great track on your hands, this potentially does more for me than all that Armin-caned stuff, keep it up

Posted by Plastick on Oct-10-2004 16:26:

I got pumped up for 6min and 31sec.
I like it. Full of nrgggg.

Posted by RaverBabySy on Oct-11-2004 19:45:

Nice punchy kick, a bit loud though. Open hat is horible. Bassline sounds good, again a bit loud. Pads sound good, need something warmer to back them up. The filters on the lead are great, I though it was a bongo drum at first! I noticed a lot of level changes here which I suspect are all down to poor compression. Tighten up this and the general eq and you could have a really decent track.
