I think he tried... to no avail

He also attempted to say fundamental.

Posted by trunks1022 on Oct-01-2004 03:47:

friend described it as this...

kerry = distinguished professor
bush = frat boy

i watched the last 15 mins or so. kerry was pretty good, tho he slipped up a little in his closing speech. bush seemed standoff-ish, wasn't sure what was going on.

bad night for bush, i agree!

They both suck and the future of the US with either one of them as Commander In Chief does not look optimistic.

kerry won this debate. he was very well spoken and bush paused way too much. it almost seemed like he had to think about the question in his head instead of knowing the answers. and he repeated a lot of issues over and over again which i found boring.

sometimes i thought he thought the two minutes was way too long for him to answer the question...so he went of on tangents...and i love how he jumped the gun after kerry spoke before the moderator even gave him 30 seconds hahahaha so kiddish

i agreee....i think the funniest lines or the funniest sounding line was when bush said somethign to the degree of
"the only consistency is my opponents inconsistency...."

lol that was pretty deep

Posted by Stasis on Oct-01-2004 18:31:

Some main points from the debate last night:

1) Bush: Saddam...errr Osama

2) Bush: We prayed together, we cried together, we even laughed together!

3) Bush: You forgot Poland!

4) Bush: We've already sanctioned Iran, we can't sanction them anymore!

5) Bush: We're working hard, it's hard work! We're making progress, it's hard work! (50X)

Kerry did a great job; he defined his single, straightforward position on Iraq clearly, he got Bush talking about real important issues like North Korea and Iran, and he pointed out every half-truth that President Bush tried to slip in. Kerry won!

After these debates are completely over, I think you will see a complete shift in momentum towards Kerry: just look at the excitement stirring through the Democrats right now, and the silence coming from the republicans. Now that Bush has actually had to answer questions about Iraq and defend his positions to a non-100% supportive audience, everyone can see how paper thin his arguments are. Kerry will win.

Kerry:
More international assistance in Iraq
More special forces to focus on Al-Qaeda and Osama bin Laden
More focus on talks with N. Korea
More Multinational sanctions against Iran

Bush:
More of the same. Hey if you like how things are going right now, and you could live with things the way they are for the next 10-20 years, go right ahead and vote for Bush again.

Go Kerry!

Not sure if you've ever been down south but people pause when they speak Bush hit home to alotta people in the bible bealt etc tonite because they relate but innercity people can not connect with bush but can connect with Kerry's ONE positive attribute his debating skills..Liberals can talk the talk don't get me wrong But they can't walk the walk....Bush might not be a good public speaker we all realized that 2nite but when push comes to shove one one man on that podium can lead this country back to it's pinnacle...
