Hello! GodsKitchen2004 - Review

well started off pretty poorly - almost 2 hours in the line was fucking bullshit! should have been organised much better...

straight to main areana to see Eddie totally fucking ripping it up! the man is a true showman hard as nails and nice mashups.
scratching over harder edged trance was a nice change and had the crowd going crazy. only shame was only got to see half his set cause of the fucking line delay.

j00f was much poorer than ive seem him play before. played much more like it was a club show rather than an arena event. was quite deep and at times a little to much psy for me. felt the crowd was not overly into it. some of the non-tanceaddicts may have preffered a few more anthems. but oh well until next time.
highlight was certainly live another life, brought back memories of push last year.

was about to head off but thought id have a peek at the start of bk. what harm could it do? was quite entertaining intially dropping tracks that the crowd knew. never seen a crowd go so bannanas for prodigy but after that got pretty boring quite quickly. so headed off.

all in all not a bad night. but think i may steer away from the larger events in future. ive had my fair share. the mixed crowd and uncomplimentary djs just doesnt do it for me anymore.

bring on ferry, armin and j00f club shows in the near future!!!!!

I had a great night! The line outside was a complete fucking joke. Thank god we didn't miss any of Eddie Haliwell's set cause would have been fuming!

The lasers were pretty sweet in the main room but apparantley the massage guys were really shit which I thought was bad :/

Hmmm gonna go play now

Funnily enough, different people have different opinions... and they are just that, PERSONAL opinions, not facts

You know it is ok for people to disagree...
I do it all the time just cause I like a good debate

the crowd was bored for most of his set. what party were you at?
more and more people just keep leaving the main arena after eddie.
sorry mate you're wrong on this one.

2 hours in queue? Shit..
I was in line for about 5 or 10 minutes.. although at the cost of missing J00F's first half hour of his set.

Posted by Nic on Oct-03-2004 09:36:

i stood in the queue for 40 mins till someone told me they werent checking vip passes at the vip entrance, before i could get the stuff out of my pockets i was already scanned an in.

Maybe i've been away from the scene for a while and lost touch with the new tracks etc but that was the shittest (musical way)event i have ever been! None did it for me. Even "suppousedly big Joof Fans" have disappeared from the front center row after 15 min into his set What happened to all that good music used to be played in such events? Highlight of the night for me, Steve Strangis dropping Greece 2000 remix on the decks! One more thing i hate that Nirvana remix "smells like teenage spirit" I think a couple of DJ's played it in their sets. Hearing it once is ok but more then once....

interested to know what kinda psy joof spun?

wtf i loved every second of j00f's set

perhaps you were at the right party, wrong room... j00f was in the big room that had lasers and lights on the back of the dj booth. his setup was almost as good as the music!

Posted by tachyon on Oct-03-2004 14:46:

had an absolute ball last night!!!

Melb TA meetup in front of young guns room!!! lol

I think J00F played rather well.. but his 4 hrs set last year is
definitely way better!

danced way less than last year, but had a fun time nonetheless

Had a great night. Funny how we all see things different. Thought Halliwell could dj but his set to me musically was shite. Did an excellent arse rape of adagio at the end but i suppose some would say that was cool.

Thought Joof was awesome. It was a really driving/psy set. It just kept building but when he did drop Push the place went nuts. Maybe they wanted a bit more of that but i didnt. His mixing was so tight i couldnt believe it at stages. And i think the thing i like most about when he plays he gets so into it. He is just as excited behind the decks as i was listening to him. (sorry phil)

I could id next to nothing and i listen to a lot of psy. He did play prodigy - voodoo people - eskimo remix
and def some new tracks off the new eskimo album
also new astral projection and an astrix track of artcore.
Also pretty sure there was a new Joof track/dig blonde remix but meh?

Note to self, next time dont que up for over an hour only to realise you have the receipt and have left the ticket back in the car and have to go all the way back. (Fuckstick)
Lucky the dude let me back in bypassing the adolfs that were taking half an hour to check each person. Glad i got there early.

I had a fanastic night! Only waited in line for about 10 mins (after sneaking into the front of the queue where my friends were!)

Was blown away by the amount of people, lighting, decor, music etc.
The largest event I'd been to in Hobart was about 1100 people.

I'll definitely be back!

Had fun.

Thought Steve did a great job warming the main room up.
Then Eddie just went bang! SOme of the shit he was doing was insane, loved the Loops and Tings with It just wont do over the top...but it got a bit much for me after about 3/4 of an hour..

I dunno if I was listening to someone different to half you peeps, but personally, I loved j00fs set- so driving and subtle, and if anyone can ID that last track he PLayed it'd be much appreciated :tears:

Had fun doing the close with Chris - Dunno what the E-Samba track was? coulda been Yimanya or maybe Dreaming 2004?- by the end was well ready for bed by the end.

off bush for a week, see yas later.

Set of my night was Gav Keitel.. Amazing!!
Benny Banassi was awesome!

Had a great night but 2 hours in the line got me down

Eddie Halliwell was awesome but I found J00F a little bit boring and not as good his club show last year... he is very entertaining though so kept me amused.

Loved BK doing Prodigy and Nirvana, we were all jumping round like nutters.

All in all a good night with good friends.
Hope everyone had fun !

j00f rocked it in sydney, but i guess it was a club set there so that may have been why.

Was mostly driving psy, with awesome buildups, was crazy!

Halliwell has great skills, but he fucked around to much with some tracks and it was starting to shit me as i couldnt get into the tunes. Top scratching, but he had a fair few off beats up here in sydney.
