problem with 1200s and dxm06

i have my tables hooked up to a numark dxm-06 mixer.. my problem is that when the record is spinning and the needle on it, the mixer isnt picking up the music and the channel lights do not become lit as to display the volume. someone know why this is? i have hooked my turntables up to a home stereo system before and i know they work and the mixer is brand new out of the box never been used. please let me know as to why my mixer is not cooporating !

This might be obvious, but check your gains. Also make sure you hooked the tables up to the "phono" imputs not "line in"

make sure u have the input on phono and not line and the crossfader is on the channel your using or in the middle

ive got a dxm06 aswell r the level lights lit up at the bottom when u switch the mixer on? cose they should be.
also this may seem they a dumb question but have u switched the mixer on with the switch at the back. make sure the switch next to the upfader is pointing at phono aswell
i cant really think of anything else that could be wrong with it

the level lights are not lit up.. and yes i turned it on. most of the shit at the top glows green (lol).

yeah, i don't know. i'll repost on monday.

maybe its the connection to the hi-fi thats the problem then and not the actual mixer

if there was a problem with the stereo, you should get a signal on the VU meters on the mixer.

check the back of the mixer, there is also hamster switches there for line/phono input (for some reason), so make sure they are all on phono

ive just tested my mixer and i think tu face is right when something is set to line the lights dont apear check every single switch and put it on to phono.
i forgot about them stupid little switches at the back
