Live in Wiley Park for a day Rach and tell me if you still like John Howard!lol hehehehee nahh everyone is entitled to their own opinion and in terms of economic management, I definitely have to say that the Liberals have done a good job in reducing Australia's debt.

Posted by amnesiak on Oct-04-2004 16:10:

Yeah, they ripoff other sectors etc to reduce the debt, then labor bring it up again. It's all a balancing act. Debt is neverending.

i think some of you guys really need to take the time to research who you are voting for.

many people (specifically young people) don't realise what a privilege and a right it is to be able to vote.

politics isn't fun, but it's necessary. the leaders you pick today determine the society that you live in tomorrow.

Here's a good starting point

ps. howard lied to the people and put Australia in a war that was built on a false premise (surely you all rememeber the "weapons of mass destruction"?). We killed innocent civilians, and Australian soldiers are still there. i'd say that's worse than bad.

pss. rach you need to stop looking at things with the beer goggles babe

i vote howard, latham just seems like a fuckin twat with no clue. Plus i supported aussie troops going to iraq, some innocent people died but then again, many innocent people died under husseins rule, probably alot more then will ever happen freeing iraq

Labor should change their name to 'If your a pov fuck on the dol vote for us'

Posted by tathi on Oct-05-2004 05:39:

you're sooo clueless baz

Or "which party can we suck next for more preferences". Peer Pressure is a bad thing Mr Latham. And of course money grows on trees, so you better save them Latham cause your gonna need em to pay for your frivilous spending agenda.
*Remembers start of election "Our policies will be fully funded and costed", oh really, it's just a pity you havent even submitted them*

Go lil' Johnny!

aus troops should never have gone to iraq. US troops should never have gone to iraq. we have a UN gor a reason. and i think the deaths and impairments of the results of the gulf war on innocent iraqi children far out weighs what hussein has done.

im voting liberal. its taken me ages to decide, but i think i will go with them. im upset that we ever got involved in that war, but i think a liberal government is the most stable and head strong we can elect.

the terrorism stuff is bullshit, mostly - but australia needs a strong leader at this point in time. howard is that, latham not.

one would think i would be voting greens, hehe, study environmental science / management or even labour - being a student. sure they have some good policies for now, but im more concerned about my future. my hecs may increase, which will suck - majorly, but at least once im out of uni having the security of a good liberal government will provide me with a more certain and stable future.

anyway, im voting liberal moreso to keep the others out. liberals have made some monumental fuck ups, but i think that they are still slightly better than the rest.

in summation: kiss my private school educated, vegetarian, tree hugging yet conservative arse.

How long was hussein in power and did the UN ever do anything about it ?

Posted by gumble on Oct-05-2004 07:16:

yer true, the UN can be bunk.

but they at least just didnt invade a country.

you cant really just focus on iraq and the UN doing nothing, it happens everywhere. there is far worse stuff happening through africa at the moment, the UN in some cases are making it worse. but there is no advantage for US to step in - so noone cares about it.

and that type of political propaganda is EXACTLY what we should be taking heed of..

Vote #1 Howard..

whilst i dont pretend to know everything there is to know at all, or even much on politics, the idea of Latham running the country is quite to be honest... i think howard genuinely acts in the best interests of the country, whether the people agree or not, whereas i think latham would become a sucker to trying to please the masses and not thinking in teh bigger picture of the countries best interests.
