Yes, the type of dance you should learn to own a nightclub dance floor or edm event is called 'Funk Dance'. Its a rather broad genre of dancing that encompasses many different musical genres, and people often confuse it with Hip Hop dancing choreography, but if you find a decent instructor they will teach you moves that you can really kick ass to trance, techno and similar.

If really keen you can learn routines with your friends and all of you can be grooving in sync.

Call me a cynic though, but I think that your original post and thread starter was intended to poke fun at techno or trance music, I'm not sure why, but perhaps you think this is funny. Incorrectly so in reality I might point out.

Some people also like to learn break dancing and use this in techno and trance enviroments but I'm not too much of a fan as it hurts my rather poor conditioned knees, and I find it a little try hardish and is designed to show off rather than enjoy yourself.

Yes this was quite noticable, and so was attempted sarcasm in response to the question being answered.

A short period in boiling oil can cure incorrect usage of the word techno I've found.

Heh...

(cover face, in preparation for bashing)....

it'll be hard to co-ordinate, I know, but would elastic bands work?

God, I don't think it'll happen, but i'm shit scared of hitting someone, and that it'll fly out of my hand when i get too fancy...

I'll have to find a spot with a lot of room ...

lol...

lol...

i'm very confident in my abilities....

heh....

I'm more worried about hitting myself... I can do it with inanimate objects, it's actually a habit, everytime i have a cable in my hand, or somethign similiar (anything like a piece of string with a heavy end), for me to swirl it around.

...

i'll make sure i do it in my home first, just in case...
