Sooo...my chica's bestfriend is standing fast that EDM and trance all have their roots in Romania. She's really fucking irritating, she thinks she's hotter than shit and she thinks she knows EVERYTHING!!!!!!! Will someone(or someone's) give me enough ammo to historically destroy her with the approximate years and origins of trance and EDM.

I've read posts dating trance back to 92 & 93' in early forms. . .But I'm very curious about other forms of EDM and what regions first starting making this stuff.

Well EDM has been produced since the likes of Kraftwerk with their first release in 1971 but Trance as we know it started out as House music in Detroit in the early to mid 1980's. This then developed into Acid House in the U.K. in the late 80's and Trance was then developed out of that. Trance wasn't really born as such but was more of an evolution in sound.

People argue where trance originally started, some people think one thing, others think another. It is not as cut and dry as the start of house or techno but who cares where the genre started, you like it and that is what matters.

He is likely the most important influence on modern dance or trance music but that doesn't mean he kicked trance off directly...
