What to do in Dallas from 10-8 to 10-10???
I have checked this forum and some other Dallas dance community forum and I still need some recommendations.
Seems like a bad weekend for things to do in Dallas. Generally speaking, what is there to do/where to go while I am there?
I am going out with a friend of mine. We fly in Friday morning. Would like to go to a couple of clubs/lounges while we are out there.
I listen to Progressive house/trance.
Club recommendations?
Food recommendations?
You wanna know what I would do? Well, here is how this weekend would go.
Friday 10/8
Fly into Dallas
Dinner at Sambuca Uptown
Drive to Lizard Lounge @ Deep Ellum for Meltdown 6 Pre-Party
Here is the lineup for that:
Adam Freeland
Chris Carter
Carbon Community
Kid Icarus
DJ Love
Johnny Funk
Jeremy Lewallan
OR:
You could go to Republic on McKinney Ave -- Great music, but its a dressy place and the drinks are a little pricey, still it's one of my favorites
Saturday 10/9
Recover
Eat Dinner at Cuba Libre on Henderson
Drive to Lower Greenville and hit up Eight Lounge & Whisky Bar
At about 1 or 2 drive to Lizard Lounge or Club Afterlife (which you need a Dallas TA to show you how to get to)
Party balls
Hope that helps you. Thats what I would do.
^ great guide Dirk. Also while you're in Dallas try some awesome Tex-Mex @ El Fenix.
you have to go try out bahama breeze they have the best sugar cane lemonade in the world its just good eats

on saturday night check out Drama Room on Knox/ Henderson. Its somewhat difficult to get inside but if you make reservations you'll be ok. The party there is amazing, then you drive to the after party that Dirk was talking about..
the info on drama is 3001 Knox St., Suite 210 214-389-5724
if coming down to dallas check out this page, you might find it helpfull... Guidelive.com
i have heard great things about drama. never been there, but if you can get on the list then i am sure it will be a great time.
i went to drama last weeekend..full of hotties.. it looked like Area 51 like 3 to 4 years ago..
wen i got there i was kinda scared, i've never seen so many hot women in one place here in dallas. and when i got inside.. there were double that many women !!
driving to Dallas on friday morning
then hopping on a plane to go to Florida
thats my best suggestion...
ok that was kinda mean,,.. go to Liz Lounge for the pre-meltdown party,.. i do recommend Adam Freeland, he was unexpectedly good in Tampa when i saw him a few years back...
Alright. I am in. Thanks to everyone for the recommendations, and Dirk for being my planner. Seems like this is what I will be doing on Friday.
If anyone sees a short Italian New Yorker, with a tall German dude who looks out of place, thats me (the Italian).
Or just look for me and Dirk's girlfriend by the bar.
Sure you want to go to Rio Grande Valley on Friday?
Anyways, thanks again. Got my Friday and Saturday nights planned as well as Sunday for the Giants-Cowboys game.
How 'bout them Cowboys?

| Originally posted by Dirk W. I might stay even if she doesn't come in. In which case, yea, I will be down to party for sure. And I don't doubt you and her will be at the bar, she's usually a lush |
Adam Freeland is fucking amazing, check him out.
Went to the Liaard Lounge to see Freeland on Friday night. Great set. Awesome breaks. Thanks for the recommendation. Glad I went.
I will say to Dallas TAs....what a terrible city. Strip clubs, hotels and chain restaurants is all I saw while I was out there. City has absolutely no character. Even Texas stadium was a dump. Maybe I am just spoiled by living where I do. I have been to Chicago, San Fran, Boston, Atlanta, Scottsdale, Vegas, and even Houston and Dallas is definately last on my list of places I would ever want to go back to.
Good barbeque though. And Pappa must be a rich bastard.
The best was the road sogns. It had to be the worst marked place I have ever traveled around. Half the time, turns weren;t marked. They would tell you 112 loop, right lane. There wouldnt be a turn off for a mile and it wouldnt even be marked when you got there. The entire city was like this.
I like Dallas
And if you want confusing road signs or none at all go to Austin.
