Trance in Atlanta!!!

Hey People!!! I am new to this forum and new to Atlanta as well!!!

Can some of you great souls out there please give me some info on the scene over here.

I have been extremely busy with settling down so I have not had a chance to find too much myself.

Now I need some of you guys and beautiful girls to let me in on the happenings around here.

Just wanted to say that I am glad to be in Atlanta and I hope to meet each and every one of y'all...slowly but surely

Also it would be great if you guys can tell me how the individual scenes are down here or do all the Trancers/Dancers/Neuromancers just get together and party hard?

Looking at the forum gives be a good idea that the Club Trance scene is coming up well but what about these sub-genres??

Psy/Goa
Drum N Bass
House/Deep House

Hope to hear for many!!!!

Love and Respect!

I use to be a resident at a club in Buckhead but now I've switched my attention and time to production. I spin a wide spectrum of music. From tech/prog/vocal/hard/tribal house to psy/euro/prog/tech trance to techno to prog breaks. Basically whatever pleases my ear.

IF you wanna hear me spin, I'll be spinning for GA Tech radio station (91.1FM) in their student union this Saturday from 10-11:30PM. Or I can give you a few CDs.

The problem with our style is the listeners don't buy enough alcohol. House listeners buy a lot of drinks as do hip hop. The clubs try to play the type of music that gets people to buy drinks. Everybody needs to sacrifice their liver for the greater good for the music!

Your liver regenerates, don't worry. Keep on boozing, the survival of dance music is depending on you!

I believe recent evidence has determined that brain cells do grow back. Whether it will grow back in time for your school exams is unclear.

hahaha, mario and scott, your conversation is too much... although, I have determined that *alternative* activities have actually RAISED my ability to do well in school

Well Suhail, there is a pretty nice scene here in atlanta! Lucky for you, it is more based on house and drum and bass, rather than trance... There are a lot of good events coming up (look at my signature, and also add Junkie XL on october 30 at eleven50, and james zabiela sometime in November at eleven50). Aside from these, there is a LOT of music around that may interest you, at places such as Lava Lounge, and often at the Masquerade.

I look forward to meeting you!! Maybe if you're not busy Saturday night, you could come check out Scott's live radio show.... it should be a lot of fun! PM or email me for details

-Gavin

Hey wow!! Great to see so many great people reply

Scott I would love to check out your show and also if you like to distribute your mixes I would be honored to have a copy of 1 or 2.
Are you a student at Ga Tech? What do you study there?
It is great that you have focussed your efforts on production because that is where the real fun is.
I have never DJ'd but I have been playing with programs like Fruity, Cubase, Reason for the past few months and they're the BEST!!!
Maybe we make some music in the future

ATL_Trancer - Thanks for the warm welcome I look forward to meeting you as well. I have heard of the Lava Lounge and Eleven50 but have not had the privillege of going there yet. Maybe for Junkie XL
But I am definitely interested in Scotts live radio show would love to see what this man is worth!!! LOL!!!
Also I am glad these *alternative* activities you speak of are working out for you
I will PM regarding you info for Scotts show and for some up and coming events.

Samira - Hey! Thanks for the welcome! Tell me more about yourself, are you in Atlanta right now? (I hope you are lol ) I met someone from Turkey the other day, this guy called Jokan, maybe you know him
Do you go to school in Atlanta?? What kinds of music are you into?
What kind of clubs do you usually go to, here, if you are in Atlanta.

Thanks people would love to hear from more of y'all!!

Hey Suhail! Most everyone loves to see new faces in Atlanta. It's nice to meet people who share the same love for EDM music. I am an Atlantan (if that's what you call it ). Jokan...hmmmm...I may have met him before, but I don't know him. I think he might know my friend since he knows almost every Turkish person around...!!

I sure do go to school here. Do you or are you planning on it? What brought you to Atlanta? I'm predominantly into trance and all it's sub-genres. I like techno as well, but mostly just acid techno and breaks. I like progressive too, with my favorite dj's being sasha, john digweed, as well as nick warren. I was actually into prog before i got into trance...a lot of those Global Underground albums kickass u know! Disregarding any genre, my favorite artist of all-time is Paul van Dyk, and I'm definitly proud to say so. Who's your #1?

Ummm...I'm not a BIG clubber. Anytime I've been clubbing it's been with either most of the TA's, my friends from school, or my sis and both our groups of friends. I don't mind the club so much, as much as the actual DJ who is spinning. The venue could be anywhere, although the venue does give off a certain vibe.... Again, I'm big about the DJ...all Liquified events I've attended are kickass!! Maddhatterradio is also veryy cool! So yeah, it's all about who's coming. Most Liquified events have been at Eleven50, and I think from now on that's where it's at...so if you see me anywhere, it's probably Eleven50.

Well it's really nice to meet you. Tell me more about yourself as well! Take care!
