i just read this recent quote from elton john

"Anyone who lip-synchs in public on stage when you pay 75 pounds ($134) to see them should be shot. Madonna, best f---ing live act? F--- off. Since when has lip-synching been live? That's me off her f---ing Christmas card list but do I give a toss? No."

--ELTON JOHN blasting MADONNA while picking up a song-writing award in London.

can anyone shed some light on it?

Yes.

Madonna sucks, has since 1990 or so, Elton John has always ruled.

And the live act award rightfully went to Muse anyway.

I gotta say I liked the earlier Madonna music and she really knows how to market herself, but Elton's definitely right. Selling tickets and performing that way is lame. I don't care how much dancing you do. I'm not really a huge Elton John fan though. His shit is just alright, at best.
