What do you guys think?

So Armin Van Buuren was supposed to be here last Thursday, but his plane caught on fire. Markus Schulz played instead and was awesome (my first time seeing him).

This week Max Graham is coming out and Armin is joining him because of the airplane fire. Usually I would be excited to see Armin, but I've seen him a couple of times and have never seen Max Graham. So, to me, Armin is cutting into Max Graham's set that I would rather see. Just wondered if any of you would feel me on that or if you think it's better to catch both of them together?

Both of them together

Why would you complain about seeing 2 great DJs?

I'm not gay so the answer would be NO. Feel yourself and don't tell us how it went.

Ha ha! Forgive me, I wondered if any of you would understand me. Don't get me wrong. I like Armin, but I would have liked to have seen Max truly build his set throughout the night. I guess we'll see.

Posted by NiteMer on Oct-05-2004 23:10:

He was ok. I didn't really get details. I think one of the engines caught on fire.

i would rather see graham...you can always just listen to ASOT...

I would say just go with it and catch both of them together. That should be interesting having Max and Armin together. Armin is straight up trance and Max is more of a prog/house DJ. Two completely different styles. If it is Max's scheduled night and Armin is being added to the bill then Armin should open for Max. That way both still get to DJ and it keeps everyone happy. Some may argue about time slot, but I would show up early regardless of the order of the line up because they are both great DJ's and definitely worth seeing. I have a feeling that you're going to have a good time. Max is awesome live!

You nailed it on the head right there. Last time Armin was in Denver he was pretty bad. His set was all over the place and didn't flow in the slightest. I really wish they woulda let Max play by himself, his last performance in Denver was brilliant. I was excited that Max was coming back to Denver, but now that Armin is on the same night I'm not sure if I want to go anymore...I wanna know how they're gonna work the time slots. It would be cool if Armin was downstairs and they gave the main room to Max considering it was only supposed to be him that night anyway...

I completely understand your frustration, but you should still go and support Max. Don't make Max suffer just because the venue is trying to host both DJ's. At least go out and show your support and make the best of the evening. I'm sure that's what Max will be doing. It's nice to hear that people would rather hear Max on his own. I'm sure he would appreciate hearing that.

Max is the one you have to see, he is crazy and Canadian (well UK born, so not truly a CDN but he is crazy enough to live here, so massive props to him). Max never sold out unlike some people

if you truly wish people asked armin, the tough questions, pray that he does my interview questions, blunt and to the point....hehehe....talking about selling out, armada making boring musak.....ya know the fun shiat.

definitely. I've seen max a few times live (jeebus, 4 or 5, me thinks) and he has never let me down. I think it'd be well worth it just to see max.

Plus he's a really nice and down to earth guy, if you get a chance to talk to him.

Regardless of the politics, I guarantee that Max will open for Armin. I know the way the Church works and even though I prefer Max, I would have him open to keep a flow throughout the evening. We'll see how it goes. I wonder how long their sets will be.

Armin is definitely NOT straight up trance. At events, he loves to drop techno, tech-trance, and some trance, but not a set entirely of trance tunes.

Posted by Sand Leaper on Oct-06-2004 18:24:

Max Graham for sure. He's more skilled, more interesting tunewise and doesn't have the DJ Mag result-hype and all the crap that comes with it clinging onto him like a pesky fly.
