That Great 'Live' Sound

Hey Guys,
I have a little problem, when I listen to a song cut out of a liveset
I really think it sounds great but when I buy the record and play it the sound is a lot less fuller which makes it a bit boring.
I especially have this with holding on to nothing (PVD Edit), on a high (G&D Remix) and Tiesto's Adagio for strings.
Does somebody know how to regenerate this sound on a mixer of what software I can use for this?
Would help me a lot!
Pascal

try adjusting the EQs, or use some plugins (for winamp try DFX or some of the other audio plugins it can support)

Throw some reverb on it and use too much compression.

Yes, very short, light reverb is the key to this imo..

BBE sonic maximizer is designed to deal with this problem. You loose certain frequencies and it can sound muddy but this tool can help. When you listen to the mix straight from the source all the sounds hit your ears pretty much at the sime time. When you record it and play back the recording process creates what's known as 'frequency dependant phase shifting' in the manufacturers own words. This means that the sounds don't flow the same way and the music looses it's punchy feel.

You can get this as a plugin or a stand alone unit, but it does cost money. Well worth it though if you are into producing too.
