RIP Rodney Dangerfield

Definitely a BIG loss. One of the greatest comedians ever. King of the one liners.

Hey Rodney, I respect you!

Unhappy

I...had a feeling it would happen this year to him. He had a couple of serious operations, but at least he lived a very long life. I'm still very saddened. He was one of my personal fav. comedians, and he was in 2 of the funniest movies ever, CaddyShack and Back to School.

R.I.P. Rodney.

I had no clue that he was that old. Of course I had never put much thought to it, but I honestly had no idea that he was 82.

Yeah...Christopher Lee is also way up there in the age range, older even.

I'm gonna play Back to School on DVD now. Now I really have to get CaddyShack on DVD, I say that's his funniest movie ever, and he'll live on forever in these great flicks.

damn that sucks. A lot of celebrities are much older than I originally thought.

Posted by Boomer187 on Oct-06-2004 02:36:

was anyone listening to the howard stern show this morning, like right at the beginning. A friend of rodney's son called in and said he was getting worse and was prolyl gonna be gone within a little bit o time.

they called bullshit cause he wouldn't give a real name or anything, but damn, IO guess he didn't lie.

truely one of the funniest men to have lived. Every time I hear a story of someone shooting a movie with him all I hear is that they had to try their hardest not to laugh their ass of when he was on film.

damn

I can't say I'm incredibly sad to see him go, but this man was a marquee name during his specific comedy types time. RIP Rodney.

Caddyshack was the shit

Probably one of my greatest comedic idol, his generosity and caring for the world of comedy has brought many new comedians into the spotlight so that they could share their talents with the masses. He's one of the main reasons I loved to watch comedy showcases, and comedy channels 24/7, as a child I used to love catching his HBO shows.

One of my favorit Dangerfield appearences is that simpsons episode "Burns Baby Burns". Larry - voice of Rodney.

Rich Woman: I would like for you to meet my daughter. She just came out last fall.
(Shows very ugly lady.)
Larry: Whoa! Put her back in, she's not done yet!

Larry Burns (running after the train): Hey, Casey Jones! Where's this train headed?
Conductor: Springfield.
Larry: Yeah, yeah, what state?
(But of course the conductor's answer is drowned out by the train horn.)

Larry Burns: Hey any of you know this man (holds picture of Mr Burns)
Bart: Oh yeah that's dad's boss Mr Burns.
Lisa: He tried to steal our puppies.
Marge: He sexually Harrassed me.
Grampa: He stole my fiance.
Homer: He made fun of my weight.
(akward silence)
Larry: Okay so there's been a bit of friction...

I remember that one ,haven't seen it in a while tho

Posted by Rodrico on Oct-06-2004 09:55:

-I haven't spoken to my wife in years. I didn't want to interupt her.

-When I was a kid, my parents moved alot, but I always found them.

-I told my wife the truth. I told her I was seeing a psychiatrist. Then she told me the truth: that she was seeing a psychiatrist, two plumbers, and a bartender.

-My wife was afraid of the dark...then she saw me naked and now she's afraid of the light.

Some good ole one liners!
