How honest are you with your parents?
Can you be totally honest with them or do you have a "don't ask don't tell" policy?
I guess i can be more frank with my mom than with my dad. I dunno why that is?
My father goes postal at everything, so I rarely talk to him but mother knows everything, including everything I did with my ex in 2002...hah...

I usually become honest after I get caught.
I dont tell them stuff that I know would really bother them, but they know alot about my lifestyle and the way I am. Im not 16 anymore so its beyond trying to tell me what to do with life.
They dont agree with alot of things I do, but oh well.
If they ask me something, 90% of the time i'll tell them straight forward.
I'll tell the truth of what happened, for those who have been bugging me about it for years in the next few weeks.
Being completely honest isn't difficult when you only talk to your parents a couple of times a month and the hardest question they ask is "how are you doing?"
i don't confide in my parents...i tell everything to perfect strangers on the internet

errrrr....sorry on second thought...i is never telling...gotta keep the past.....as the past
anyway...I tell the truth nowdays with my parents.
lying is so much harder then being honest. especially when they're suspicious about you lying in the first place.

I'm really quite honest. But I'm also really quite boring
I don't do drugs, I don't drink, I don't get bad grades, I don't really have anything to hide from people. What you see is what you get and I like it that way. Of course, I have personal feelings - I'm not saying I'm absolutely open about everything, quite the opposite, really. But if somebody asks me a question, I will straight-up answer them honestly - parents or not...
or I just change the subject really fast!

I dont lie. If asked Ill tell, if its something worth telling ill do it on my own. But if they ask "why didnt you come home last night" there are a couple answers
now its "I got HAMMERED"
used to be "We stayed up until 5 am talking and hanging out"
which was true, but it was caused by drunkeness.
I think its called pragmatics in philosophy. A man catches on fire that you hate and asks where the fire extinguisher is. You say first floor. He runs down the stairs and puts himself out. On the way back he notices that there was a fire extinguisher right outside the door of the man he asked. He tries to get mad at you but you can look him right in the eye and can tell him you didnt lie at all. There WAS a fire extinguiser on the first floor. He didnt ask where the nearest one was. Just because he assumed that you were saying the nearest one was downstairs doesnt mean thats what you actually meant.
I got into a lot of "technically, I wasnt lying" battles.
All they had to do was word their questions right. My mom became the MASTER at figuring it out though. Id say something and shed ask what I meant by that and what caused it yada yada. I was so proud
uhhm, i tell them not everything, and yeah, i tell them like truth just sometimes i tell them the truthe they want to hear
part of the truth alwasy seems like a good idea.
when i was in europe i emailed my dad everything i did,... b/c i was legal then,.. my dad's a lawyer so he's on the legality thing,.. he didnt care b/c it was legal,. little do they know those shannigans still occur here too
I am a very effective liar. I can convince myself that I am telliing truth, thus I do not show any signs of lying.
i tell my mom pretty much anything, she doesn't usually need to ask me.
When she asked me if i did drugs i told her the truth straight away, at first she was a bit shocked but eventually she came round. All she asks is that i tell her when and what i'm going to do in case something should happen to me.
My dad is a different story though hehe... he likes to think i'm still his little girl (at 23), so he's in the dark about a lot of things. Meh, i figure as long as one parent knows what's going on it's good enough
Im actually too honest with my mom, and it always bites me in the ass later. Its hard though because she can be pretty cool, and we have the same opinions on everything and were on the same page a lot, so I kinda see her as a friend. But then when we get in an argument, she uses the stuff I tell her against me, which is messed up, so Im starting to not tell her anything any more. Its sad really, I have a horrible relationship with my mom, its very unhealthy and phony now, and Im at the point where if I didnt see her or talk to her any more, I can honestly say Id be a much happier person. I'm not saying I don't love her, I just don't like her at all. She brings me down.
My dad is awesome, and I have a very open and honest relationship with him too, but hes much more understanding and level headed than my mom. He doesnt judge me like she does.
So overall, yea, my parents pretty much know almost everything about me and whats going on. They know Im not an angel, but they also know Im still a good person at heart.
Lying to my parents is almost second nature to me, just about small things like drinking, etc... I usually just tell them I drank less than I actually did.
I don't tell them that much anyway, although I'll usually at least answer some questions. They don't know much about my life outside home though. Not that there's a shitload to know, but still.
i'm such a good liar, it scares me sometimes...my boyfriend and i were talking about this recently...we're both excellent liars (except to each other, thank god) and we're both kind of untrusting sometimes of each other, only because we know we can lie...it's really funny actually.
More to mother than father. Father.... maybe because he's naggy so i wouldnt talk to him as much to my mum. But still, i not the kind who can tell my parents everything...(eg. worries, secrets & etc) I prefer keeping to myself or telling my friends.
Back to honesty: Bad lies during childhood... For now, most of the lies i make are prob all school lies...(like: plain lazy to go for school and lied, telling them no classes)
Well thats different. Theres being honest about the stuff you do, and then theres being honest about your secrets and feelings. Im just honest about the stuff I do (i.e. smoke pot). I dont tell my parents that much about whats going on in my head. In fact, I dont tell pretty much ANYONE about what goes on in my head...Im too scared theyd think Im off my rocker.
