Creating FX sounds? (With reason)

I've been looking through the read before posting and exploration of sounds threads, and also all the thread topics from 7 pages back without finding any hints. I also didn't find anything over at computermusic.co.uk.

So, anybody got some tutorials or hints how to create FX sounds? Stuff like sweeps and other sounds you can use to make a boring track less empty... Especially the first 32-48 bars.

Since I use reason, I prefer not to get any VSTi tips, but rather common or reason-specific stuff.

To make 'swooshy' sounds you can use subtractor - activate noise, turn the 'mix' knob all the way to the right so there's no tonal sounds, then mess about with the A,D,S,R sliders on the Filter and Amp Env and you'll get something. If the filter attack's low, it'll sound 'downwards', if it's high it goes 'up'. Then add some reverb, delay, chorus to it, and I usually automate the master level to make it fade out more smoothly. At least that's how I do it. If you want an rns file I'll make one, no probs with that... (although bear in mind I've only been producing for a matter of months and there's plenty people here better than me with Reason )

Even though I could probably do it myself after the explanation, a .rns file would be great, thanks.

Is that the kind of thing you're looking for?

fx can be anything imo, i never have any problem with it, i can even forge an hihat to a fx sound.

matter of pitching, automating, delaying , panning etc.

Well it might be easy when you've been producing for more than 2 months but for me it isn't. I tried a hihat literally and it sounds like crap no matter what I try.
