[PROG TRANCE/HOUSE] euler - clamour *update

I updated this track, which I posted about 2 weeks ago. I added a new bassline and some small new elements, also a synth bassline at the end. It is still the very raw version, so the stuctures and transitions need work.

I'm still a n00b at mastering, so it probably sounds pretty bad. I don't really know how to work the damn compressors.

Any comments?

Name: Clamour
Length: 7:51
Quality: 256 kbps
Genre: Prog. Trance/House

Thanks for listening!

First off, good that you made it slower
Bassline is perfect as it is, I'd leave it as it is
Hmm maybe use more of that Satoshi-sounding tom that starts at 0'30''
And bring the guitar back in sooner
Hmm maybe make the outro a little bit longer so that it's easier to mix out of...

You're nearly there, but it's great already

Thanks for replies...

What do you mean use more of the tom? Like the syncopation that it plays change over?

I am going to leave the main bassline as it is. My friend liked the synth-bassline in the end, and I'm working on that now. I think it can be made to fit with the first bassline pretty well, since they are in pretty much different frequency ranges.

About the guitar, do you mean have it come in earlier, or return earlier?

I do plan to make the outro longer, I was just in a haste to render it this time.

I want to work more on the buildups, as I think they need more energy and suspense...

Any more suggestions?

THis has a nice kick and bass.

very unique hihat, nice background sounds.

takes a while before the theme kicks in.

everything is really nice eqed.

Missing a clap in the beat, doesn't need to be a hard or loud one.

the melody with the string sequence later on is really nice.

Curious where did you get all these nice background fx/sounds?

good track.

I mean put it in more places in the song.

A bit of white noise here and there would be great

I actually do habe a clap/snare, but I turned the level down, because it was causing some clipping even at pretty low levels, for some reason. I'm working on brining it back. It does give the song more energy...

Yeah the melody is originally a synth trancy melody...I have like 5 different melodies in this song, fit for a trancer, but I'm trying to keep this more of a house piece.

The background sfx are pretty few actually. You must be talking about that sweeping pad. Its a patch from this sample tank I have, with some modifications. Those other sfx are from downloaded sample packs pretty much, or stuff I've messed around in SoundForge with. There is a sample of my voice saying "yeaahhsss" in the background, distorted in several ways. There is also a basoon sound with a pitch bend...

I'll be happy to send you a sample pack if you wish....

Thanks for listening...

Wicked, i'll be gald to help you out

I can also give a listen to anything else you've done as i'm up for giving upcoming producers their chance to get noticed as i know what it feels like my self to be in the situation of wanting to be noticed

Pretty damn nice, I like the moody feel and the sample from PMT - Gyromancer

Would prefer if the strings had a more 'joined' feel, by that I mean some of the shorter notes the strings play sound a tad out of place for mine, but I like

Great bassline and overall rhythm, nice use of percs generally too.
Sounds great at 3:28 when it all comes back in, love the way the toms lead it in as well.
Melody from 4:26 sounds good but is a little plain, it does sound nice however when the strings come in, as they add much-needed complexity.
Overall this is really nice work!

Hmm, excellent track guy, I love the bassline (remind me Perfect Wave) and the atmosphere !
The percs can be improved, add some congas or bongos and a medium open hat and your track will be really deep and floorkiller !
