Dancing Dude The Melbourne Shuffler DVD Documentary

www.melbourneshuffler.com

i have seen these guys out a fair bit recently!!

they have some great mang vids of me, cant wait till they post em on thier site!!

What are your thoughts on this soon to be production, i personally think the 'Melbourne Shuffle' is unique only to melbourne and should not be shared...

Hee hee, Accept no immitations...

According to some u r the master....

Posted by tachyon on Oct-14-2004 06:35:

would be nice to see some of the old skool shuffler in action,

those hat twirls are impressive when done accurately, but scattering
your hat across the dancefloor every 4 beats is definitely irritating!!

i wish i can see videos from hardware #03 - #05 parties, that would be wicked!

Master of mang or foot?? me confused now...

That's awesome

I'll have to go down to one of those events and watch. I sorta agree that this has its bad side, the Melbourne Shuffle is a special thing, would hate to see it lose some of that.
But until its on the shelves at k-mart and there are posers at rnb clubs doing it I'm not too fussed.

*edit*
Shuffler Public Exhibition @ Swanson St 8 pm 16 Oct 2004

Melbourne rave dance.. dl some of the vids, or do an ITM search. There's plenty out there on it.

Serious cool stuff the Melbourne Shuffle, takes some real skill. (But I'm getting there )

Posted by eRRaTiK on Oct-14-2004 09:42:

it's good when people can actually do it (and do it well), but bad when people get messed up and think that they can do it.

Posted by trevgeeza on Oct-14-2004 11:36:

The shuffle was a treat to watch a couple of years ago when there were a select few doing it and looking awesome when they did.... Now every second person is doing it cause they though it looked cool and now look ridiculous out of time and cause they do it in such sudden bursts they can't even last a mix..... Bring back the old melbourne shuffle where it was individual to each person, not a line dance.... Old skool shuffler's still look amazing and there are still a few that do!

I don't think the streaming vid on ITM is related to this specific doco other than it's subject matter.

Still, the ITM vid is pretty crazy, so it'd be interesting to see this DVD with nothing but shuffle.

WTF is that sposed to mean.. its commercial. I know I don't pay the melbourne shuffle tax, nor do I wear the official melbourne shuffle mechandise.....

I'm sure it has become more popular.. good things always do. But srsly, quit your bitching.

*oh and tachyon, I'm rather sure its not the hip-hop crowd, this is the 3rd time i think they have done this, and apparently the last two times were awesome. (I can't go out all night, but don't wanna stay home, this is a nice option)*

*Edit*.. I appologise for my stupidity in not realising that was actually a joke, i'm tired and have been defending the shuffle all night (from various rave-haters)

Posted by amnesiak on Oct-14-2004 14:48:

I love the shuffle. I have my own style of shuffle and liquid. If you think it's gay and not true to the shuffle it's just because you're bitter it's not underground anymore, but times are changing.

Wouldn't mind going to see some old school shufflers and compare my own style to theirs. Maybe even rip off a few moves. Can we organise a TA meet for this shufflign event on Saturday?

What's that dance called that uses like one move of the shuffle behind the foot constantly? Stomp or something? I absolutely despise it and think it cheapens the shuffle. Although I'll do it on the odd occasion when I'm puffed out and my feet are hurting because it's so easy.

I think there was a little parody there, ie. he was having a dig the use of the cliche: "I dug it before everyone else did and now it's popular it sucks"

Unless I'm miles off the mark...

Backstep.

*Edit* I'm tired ^

Posted by Anomyst on Oct-15-2004 02:44:

it is all about letting yourself go and flow with the music, if your lucky the moves will follow your rhythm and everyone is unique and has a different style!

Mine for example is a less 'fast paced' funky movement incorperating a bit of everything, and i love dancing, it keeps me fit!!

i am one of those people who thinks he can but probably cant... and proud of it. i really enjoy dancing and thats pretty much all that matters. its a great unique thing we have and i think everyone within our city limits has the right to give it a shot.
