Club Music
OKay, U wanna go to a club. Have a few drinks with your mates, perhaps some of your mates wanna get on it, and perhaps some dont. You wanna see meet pretty members of the opposite sex, and have a dance to some half decent music.
You are sick of/dont like commercial house, most trance is to hard or to cheezy and loud, most prog is lifeless and requires a fair bit of drugs to get stuck into and breaks all nite does your head in
What sort of music/night would appeal to you?
Tech-house. Druggy, glitchy, minimal tech-house.
House thats not commercial.
You've ruled out Trance (tech trance too i suppose) and prog (my normal weapons of choice), no way I'm going near RnB, Hip-hop; Top 40 = teenybopper cheese; techno, hardstyle and DnB don't do it for me.
House will always attract the chicks, but you don't want to get too commercial (which you ruled out anyway) or else you'll probably attract the poser crowd
House is the only one left I think..........
nah, not ruling out prog and trance (NO0o0o0o way)....but Im talking the inaccesable, younger crowd type stuff...
interesting question right there - i recommend posting this question in the Music discussion forum...
personally i like lots of different styles of music but not one of them includes top 40/video hits/blah blah blah crap
sitting around and chilling with a couple mates at a bar i like some quiet proggy breaks, when i rock i love nothing more than the sounds of wicked melodic trance. my dream is that djs will start to realise that it's not only the new stuff that they need to play but the occasional classic is great for everyone to hear as well! personally the top 40 crap annoys the hell out of me because i hear the tracks played all over the place ie. tv commercials and shows
hearing the same tracks when i go out just ruin them for me. Motorcycle - As the Rush clubs (every mix) is one that i am OVER. it's been played! take it out of the record box for at least 2 years, PLEASE!!!
the best sets i reckon are the ones with the largest variety of tracks both new and old with 1 or 2 quieter ones to give the hardcore dancers a break. no one plays tracks like Universal Nation anymore because they think it's old or whatever but people love to hear tracks they havent heard in ages...
gyarh i'm ranting again
my 2c
^^agree
I've learnt that it's much cheaper to buy a carton and stay at home listening to whatever music you've got on your computer with some mates than go out and hear annoying music and pay inflated prices for drinks.

Tech-House & Minimal...Anything German!
speaking of the minimal, glitchy techy housey thing, went to Honky Tonks on Saturday for the first time in about 6 months and had an absolute ball....hmmm...
What night was it? I've only been there recently for Lasergun. Speaking of which, electro is also good for getting punters of both sexes up on the dancefloor...
Standard Saturday nite with Angela Maison, Bongmist et all...it was more housey than tech housey...also had a live group PLay for about 1/2 an hour who were pretty good....
Got a soft spot for house, as it's where i started. But none of this shitty commercial poppy house, not only is it cheesy, I dont like the fully sick muzza crowd it attracts. A club that plays quality house, will attract a quality crowd and has much potential to do well.
But there's nothing like being in the middle of a dance floor and hearing the beauty which is melodic uplifting trance *wheeps*
I was at room on saturday night, had a fantastic time, music was awesome, but it just needed that set of trance to take it to the next level.
An ultimate night i believe would consist of house, prog and melodic/uplifting and techy trance. House to pull a bit more of a crowd, prog for the transition, and trance to make them full in love.
Commercial house is teh win!
I've got soo much looove, too givvvvvee
(repeat ad nauseum)
Replace with these vocals:
Call on me, call on meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
call on me, call on meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
teh win!
You now have an instant club hit, Eric Prydz - Call On Me
(i like it though
)
house is good and all, but seriously.. how many songs do they want to sample bob sinclair.. stardust "music sounds better's" melody and chop it and change it around into something new.. that's something i got over fast
hip hop + house.
get drunk, its great.
oh and covers bands. them, they are so shit they rock. and you know all the songs and u sing, cos ure drunk. being drunk is great.
in fact, i'll go anywhere where theres skirt. good skirt. i dont go to rnb clubs cos the skirt there is not my favourite. im not saying anymore, otherwise u'll tag me as a racist.
summer = beer, beach, babes, breaks.
i dont really mind anything...but i dont really like rnb that much, stuff like chingy etc. i just think its rubbish
and its too slow.
i dont really mind any other dance music though, cheesy or non cheesy. of course i have preferences but i dont really mind a bit of everything.

Some nice, groovy deep house. Not usual club music, i'm talkin about the kinda stuff you hear from InspiritMusic or Naked. Tis very sexy, slow, yet still a nice pace to dance to
House all the way... all forms
i agree with both pointy and paul - lets worship cock err... i mean house music.
hey paul, get dave armstrong - make your move and you decide who ripped off who...
