Your life comes down to

one phone call......

Well some of you may know that in the recent months i have applied to work in certain hospitals next year.
Today was the day where you sit around the phone waiting for a hospital to ring to say that you got the job.
Its kind of the same system after year 12 where you wait patiently for the postman (modern ppl just checked online) for the TER scores, to see whether or not you got into the uni course you wanted.

So today was that day all over again where you sit around for the phone to ring, all the girls at uni already heard from hospitals and i was sitting at home with thoughts running through my head that maybe i didnt get a job ect. Not realising they call people in alphabetic order and my surname starts with a v

Anyways, i got in to the hospital that i want to work at, so it just ends the perfect week of faithless and a new exciting job

Anyone else had to wait around for a call like this that has the potential to change the rest of your life?

congrats dude!

well not so much a phone call but i was waiting for a letter saying i'd gotten the scholarship for Rossmoyne high ... and yeah if i hadnt gotten that i wouldnt have some of the friends i have now, i may well have developed a different personality and/or gone down a different path career-wise.. and quite possibly would have been beaten to a bloody pulp everyday since my zoned high school was pretty bad

it's great to hear stuff falling into place for people especially when it's something you are hanging out for. It's funny how stuff does work out sometimes even when you think the odds are against you great to hear Jolene and goodluck

Yep

for the last 12 months... so now instead of waiting for some dumb hoe that works for a HR department to ring im using my degree to good use and am doing painting

BTW congratulations, good to see you get a break for a change.

Well its the first year i will be out of uni so each hospital offer different things for graduates. The one i got in will pay for any other studies i want to do such as a postgrad ect
They also offer better rotations through the hospital which is good

Thanks to everyone for the support at times i never thought i would actually finish my course with all the drama's in my life the past year
But i got through it god only knows how that happened

i had a similar experience at the end of year 12..

since i did the international baccalaureate i had to wait for
the ib coordinator to call me and give me my results

certainly was a horrible wait, which got even worse when he told
me my results!

oh well it worked out well enough in the end
